Very pleased with quality & quantity of food. Bummed they were out of the chips, as we wanted to try them but that’s the only complaint.

The staff is rude. The lady who works behind the counter is mean & talks about other customers out loud in the store. Would give them 0 if I could.

Being from Kansas City, I’m always on the hunt for comparable BBQ in the southern states. It’s challenging. The Saw’s we visited was in Birmingham. Had the combo platter with pork, sausage, fries and green tomatoes. Food was served up quickly. Fries were hot which is always a plus. Felt that the meat quantity was a little light for ordering one of the more expensive plates. I found myself cutting it up into small pieces to make it last a little longer. Would have preferred spending a couple of more dollars to get more meat. The flavor was good but not enough smokiness for me. No bark on the pork. I did like the fact that they had a full bottle of sauce on the table. But, it’s the only option so you had better like it. The fried green tomatoes were cooked nicely but the thousand islandy sauce served with them was not to my taste. Overall, a decent lunch but still on the search for something that comes remotely near KC style BBQ joints.

Ok, my intentions were to take pictures of our beautiful meal, but me and my husband could not wait. We usually have good conversations at dinner. Not today we were so off into our wonderful meal. It Will leave you breathless. Everything taste GREAT!!! Even the dessert. We will definitely be back. (tomorrow, lololol ??) Hoover location.

Atmosphere: Saw's BBQ is a hole-in-the-wall-esque restaurant with a decent amount of seating available inside. There are lots of fun decorations and memorabilia scattered on the walls, which you can admire while waiting for your food. Service: We ordered at the back counter, and our food came out very quickly. Food: We shared the Saw's Sampler, which came with pulled pork, chicken, 2 large ribs, and a choice of 2 sides -- we chose devilled eggs and potato salad. We saw that the devilled eggs were a polarizing option, with some reviews hyping it up and others disappointed. Our experience was somewhere in between: it was great but not a life-changing side dish. The potato salad was very creamy and almost reminiscent of egg salad if you're into that. The meat portions were quite generous. Our favorite was the ribs, which were tender and had a nice subtle, smoky flavor. The chicken and pulled pork were a bit on the dry side. While the sampler as a whole was good, there was a common predominant flavor that almost overpowered the experience - pickles. Everything had a bit of a vinegar "tanginess" to it, which may be good for some and a turnoff for others. Overall: Saw's BBQ was a great, filling lunch experience. The portions were quite good, just take note of the pickley-vinegary taste that the sauces, sides, and seasonings have!

Probably the best BBQ in BHM, got the sampler and everything was scrumptious, ribs easily separate from the bone, chicken and pulled pork were tasty & juicy, beans were very good too. Inside seating may be a bit cramped especially on rush hour so plan accordingly.
