I stopped by just now to get a bowl. First Açaí bowl ever! Sadly disappointed. Ordered The City Bowl, Bacon Egg Toast and the Malibu Lemonade. I asked the associate was there any added sugars because I did not want added sugars of any kind. The juice was horribly too sweet and taste more like kool aid than anything. Even the toast was sweet. The egg was ok and bacon barely there. Now on to what I came for the “acai” bowl. I ordered the 10 oz I believe. The açaí tasted good, however it was watery and it pretty much literally only covered the bottom of the bowl. It should be called the granola and honey bowl because that is pretty much what it consisted of. The granola took up 75% of the bowl and was overwhelmingly covered with honey. The granola did not taste fresh in some areas and maybe that was the purpose of the honey. The fruit tasted fresh. This was definitely and overwhelming and underwhelming experience all in one. 10/10 I will not be back again.

Best bowl ever. I had the powerhouse. Absolutely amazing.
I sit outside on Friday, the weather was perfect to enjoy my açaí bowl outdoors. The sweetest and most professional young lady came out wiping the tables (which were exceptionally clean), I asked about my bowl, she was so knowledgeable of the food there. I must say açaí bowl in Hoover is blessed to have such a kind employee. I asked her name as we talked briefly. Mercedes, your smile and kindness made my day. Thank you. :)

This was my first time at City Bowls and it did NOT disappoint. The shop was so cute and loved the table setup. The store was really clean and the staff was friendly. My daughter and I split the Hipster (don’t skip the hot sauce) and the Island Bowl + bananas. They were both absolutely delicious. No doubt I’ll be back!

I have been to this location and other City Bowls locations many times and enjoyed their açaí bowls. However, this visit was very disappointing. The peanut butter wasn’t quite right, the fruit was strange, the granola was clumpy, and there wasn’t much açaí. I would assume as a chain that their recipes and preparation would be the same but maybe not. I’m not sure I’ll return to this location.

I have been to the City Bowls in Hoover four times this year and each time I was not disappointed. The service, the food, the atmosphere and sigh all of the desserts. Let me tell you, you'll probably lose weight just standing there trying to decide which I appealing, mouth-watering dessert you will want to try.
