“Wonderful local bakery with multiple Birmingham area locations. They also serve breakfast and lunch, but their wide selection of bake goods is the primary focus. One of my favorite items is their thumbprint cookies.The breakfast and lunch menu are limited, but the items are fresh and done well. The standard two-egg breakfast is what you would expect and pretty good. For lunch I like the chicken salads.I have been here several times and have always been satisfied with food and service.“
“I needed something last minute for a coworker’s birthday. I was undecided about what to pick because it would be shared with a group of people. I called the store to get some quick clarification and to ask about delivery and had a conversation with a wonderful associate. She was kind, funny, and informative. I was all set and placed my order for “bundlets with birthday hats” for delivery thinking I would be there when the cakes arrived with my own Birthday Card to go with the cakes, but I got delayed! I called last minute the next morning to see if they could add a personalized card to my order and talked to another associate who kindly took the information and made sure it was with the delivery. They were a hit! “I first purchased items from their food truck. I was so excited when they were able to open a brick-and-mortar. They have a variety of cakes, cheesecakes, breakfast items and sandwhiches oh and huge Cinnamon rolls. I have enjoyed everything that I have purchased and will continue to support.“
“I participated in a cake decorating class today and had the best time! Mary was the instructor and she did a fantastic job. I’m a complete beginner and the class was very helpful and fun. She explained the basics of the supplies used, properly icing a cake, and how to create roses and leaves. Highly recommend to anyone who is just getting started or brushing up on more advanced skills. Can’t wait to go back!“

“Today I was leaving Grandview Hospital broken and hurting. As I was about to walk out a young man, later discovered to be the owners son, smiled so kindly and offered me a piece of lemon pound cake, there's no way he knew it is my favorite pound cake. I am the Sheriff in Blount County Alabama and was in uniform and he handed me the cake he thanked me for what I do and told me to be safe. It was as if God knew I needed a little piece of cake and a kind hearted smile to bring me some peace. Other than the kindness shown to me the cake was the most amazing piece of pound cake I have ever eaten. It was so moist with just the right amount of lemon to give it the best flavor. Thank you for what you do, you may not truly know the blessing you gave me today.“
“Edgar’s Bakery on 2713 18th Street South saved my nieces wedding day. The cake made by someone else unfortunately had no support and started to fall apart. The cake could not be displayed or in pictures. We made a decision to try to locate another cake. We drove to and called several stores and bakeries to no avail. Before giving up my daughter made a call to Edgar’s. She immediately said, mom they were actually nice (the other bakeries we called were rude) then she said mom the lady said they may have something that will work. We made it there and unfortunately there were no all white cakes but there was a lot of strawberry cakes, chocolate, and other flavors. Still nothing that we thought we could add flowers to and make it match her wedding colors. One of the young ladies at the counter went to get the manager and also I believe the Baker/decorator. We told her what happened and showed some of the pictures. It was so close to closing time so I would’ve totally understood if there was nothing that could be done. She asked me to wait so she can make a few phone calls to see if there’s anything that she could do to help or offer any advice. After she made a couple of phone calls and no one answered, she finally said you know, I can help. She asked for a little time and she came from the back with a beautiful a two tier cake. It was perfect. She also noticed on the cake that was ruined that my niece wanted a textured icing so she went the extra super Duper mile and textured the icing on the cake she made for us. We also purchased a chocolate cake for the grooms cake because it was also ruined. The kindness and support that the staff at this bakery provided us in the mist of a complete disaster was beautiful and heart warming. They could’ve easily said not our cake, not our problem plus it’s almost closing time but no, we were offered a solution and comfort. I am back in Dallas,TX now and I can’t stop telling everyone about our wonderful blessed experience. I am so sorry that I cannot remember the name of the wonderful lady that made the cake but she knows who she is and I really hope she shares her wonderfulness with everyone in the Edgar’s Bakery family and in Birmingham, Alabama.FYI, Edgar’s did NOT make the cake that fell. Edgar’s kindly made the perfect cake that replaced it.“
“So wow! I can't believe I haven't reviewed this NBC location. I'm always pleased with my experience here. The cakes are always moist and satisfying! Service is also friendly and consistent. I love the bday perk which is always a HIT!!! My selection this year was the carrot cake and it was amazing!!! NBC never disappoints so go get you some yummy(ness)!!!“
