I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of Emily’s heirloom poundcakes in the Vestavia parking lot by Walgreens “Open Market” on Tuesday this week. Today I was leaving Grandview Hospital broken and hurting. As I was about to walk out a young man, later discovered to be the owners son, smiled so kindly and offered me a piece of lemon pound cake, there's no way he knew it is my favorite pound cake. I am the Sheriff in Blount County Alabama and was in uniform and he handed me the cake he thanked me for what I do and told me to be safe.
