The food and drinks were delicious. I got the quesabirria tacos, which were super tasty. The rest of the table also enjoyed their tacos. Our server was friendly and attentive. The other two at the table with me took advantage of the Monday night half-priced margaritas by getting a pitcher of the basic margarita for $22.

My biggest problems with Agave and Rye was the inattention to the door and the outrageous cost of the appetizers. An order of chips with your choice of 3 dips was $20! (Yes, I knew the price before ordering them). A typical entree (your choice of 3 tacos) is $16. Why the heck are the chips and dip more expensive than an entree? You can get the chips with just one dip for $7, sure. But I've gotten chips with 3 dips from many other restaurants and never had them cost more than the entrees on the menu. That's outrageous. One person at our table also ordered the eggrolls appetizer. It was $15 for just TWO eggrolls. Again, why are two eggrolls the cost of an entree? The eggrolls and the chips and dips were tasty, but not worth that price.

We came on a Monday night. There were very few guests in the restaurant (typical for a Monday), and no staff in sight. It took quite a few minutes for a staff member to appear and seat us. The entire time we were there (I was sitting facing the door), the majority of guests who came in had to wait several minutes for a staff member to appear at the door. The bartenders spent most of the shift on the side of the bar facing away from the door or not on the floor. In one instance, a couple walked up to the bar after several minutes of waiting at the door and asked if they are supposed to seat themselves. To which they were told that they had to wait to be seated unless they wanted to sit at the bar. By the time one of the waitresses came out to seat them, another couple joined them. The waitress sat the first couple, took their drink order, disappeared into the kitchen, and never returned to the host stand to seat the other couple. After several more minutes with no reappearance of the waitress, they finally left.

Having worked before as a host, and later waitress, I understand that Mondays are slow and less staffed. Nevertheless, I was surprised at the lack of staff presence on the floor and their inattentiveness to the door. Hopefully they are more attentive to seating on busier nights.

Overall, the food was good but overpriced for appetizers. Service was good once we were sat. If we only bought entrees, we could have walked out of there around $20 each after tax (before tip). With drinks and overpriced appetizers, we ended up walking out at $50 per person after tax (before tip).

Dee/ Desirae was the best server! She was so kind and got our drinks and food out super quickly. She recommended the quesa Birria and she was so right they were awesome!! Such a fun place will definitely be coming back!

Dezzera was awesome. We had our food in 15 minutes. The food was amazing. I got the vegetarian Karen taco and it was so flavorful! New favorite spot at Bridge street!!!
