Slow service, overcharged for food multiple times. No refills for soda. Very poor experience
Table was dirty. Food was ok.
"Tavern"? What a joke of a title. The location of this restaurant is such a waste. Prime Location and less than mediocre food and service. When keegans opened up, I was optimistic cause the food was delicious, the menu only lacking some more irish fare. Last time me and my family went back, the service was god awful, music was LOUD, and the food was bland and unpalatable. I left hungry. This place USE to be good. So if the owners know what's good for them they'll go back to doing things the old way.
Fabulous meat and three!! Thoroughly enjoyed everything and service was impeccable!!
Wrong soda brought out, ordered fried pickles i didn’t get and had to remind after food was served. My husbands food was wrong and was sent back. He didn’t get his food till after everyone was done with their food. Overcharged for food 2 times
no refills offered on soda drinks. food had to be sent back twice. overcharged for food.
Visited for the first time this evening and it was great. My husband and I had the fried flounder almondine and it was fresh, crisp and cooked to perfection. My older son had the grilled shrimp, collard greens and fried okra and they were all delicious. The younger son had the shrimp po boy and he said it was the best he's ever had. The service was exceptional and our food came out unbelievably fast. We will be regular customers.
Big Spring Tavern has a really nice location. It is below the street above, but you can access it from the spiral staircase, or from the park. There is also another entrance, but didn't use it.
Great food and service. I’ve been here 4 times all good!!!!!
Decided to try this place as it just opened, despite it somehow already having a 2.1 rating. The service was very good, the beer list was decent (lacked porters), the food was adequate, and the location is great. It's a solid choice if you're in the area and want a beer and some bar type food. It's not fine dining. I'd recommend giving it a shot for yourself!

I have eaten lunch here a few times over the past few weeks and can see myself making this a regular stop weekly. The food is good, the service from bartender Katie is always excellent. A gentleman by the name of Temple is usually the manager on duty in the evening and really makes you feel welcome when you walk in the door.
Went there as part of a group on Thursday evening. Except for a couple other groups we had the place to ourselves which made it feel more intimate. The dragon's milk was excellent. The food was good. We enjoyed it, but they are indeed experiencing growing pains. So go there with a laid back attitude. Give em a few more weeks to work out what's working and what's not and what to do about it and they'll get up to speed. Meanwhile go here to stretch your legs, hear each other talk, and catch up on things.

Great service and great food. My daughter said they have the best chicken fingers. We will be back.
Do not recommend eating at Big Spring Tavern. Definitely not the same as Keegan’s. We went there Friday night. New menu is very limited and restaurant was out of many of the items. Food came out at different times and one of our guest did not get a meal. We informed the owner and he did not seem too concerned. He did comp the one meal that we never got but for those that waited for the last meal to show up.... we were out of luck. As everything took so long, we had to leave without eating. We will not be going back.
