Save Your Money! The Golden Star was one of the best chinese restaurants in Huntsville. I ate there every week or two for ten years or so. A Chinese woman ran it. Service was great. One day I went in and a whole new crew was in place. The woman who ran it for so long was gone. I tried it 3 more times. I hoped that it would be back to the fantastic take out place it had been. It remained truly awful. The only place worse is the Panda across from Walmart in the Burlington shopping center.

Awesome Chinese Takeout!

Love this place. Food is excellent. Their buffet is pretty large and everything is fresh and full every time I visit. Their Togo portions are huge And the prices are excellent. Their mei fun is some of the best I've had. Especially in Shelbyville. Out of all the Chinese restaurants nearby, this one is by far the best.

Plenty of parking,selection to. Stores with sales people, were friendly. Prices were affordable, lots of selections.

Golden Star is the WORST Chinese food in Huntsville! Sauces and gravy are always watery. They can't even get chicken wings right.

Good food. Don't have to wait long if you order in store, but you can call in an order and it will be ready to go. You can also grab a table and enjoy your meal.

I've patronized this place since it opened several decades ago and I simply do not understand why anyone would complain. It has been there a long time and I've never seen a bad rating displayed. The food is pretty good and nowhere else gives you as much to eat for your hard-earned money. I can usually make a couple of meals out of a single order. It is a great place to call in an order and go pick it up. That's all worth 5 stars in my book. Thanks, Golden Star!

Stopped in and got my husband and I a late lunch to go. We have a 30 minute drive home. The food was still piping hot when we got home and tasted delicious! The portions were big for the money , and the restaurant was clean.The language barrier is the only thing keeping me from giving a 5 star rating. The man working the counter seemed to have a hard time understanding me and I had to repeat myself a few times.

I have been trying to find a good Chinese place since I moved down here in 2016. The sweet and sour pork is crispy just like I like it. The sauce is a nice red color. (I hate when the sauce is orange at some places). The crab Rangoon was crunchy and not greasy. I highly recommend it.

Pretty gross across the board. The lady was short but not rude (ESL as another review stated) The food well just gross. Chicken is not supposed to be SLIMY with gristle. The lo mein was so meh as it had a bit to much "flame" flavor with the charred noodles . If you don't mind your egg rolls shrimp and cream cheese won tons all fried in the same vat so it all taste like old fish and rancid oil this place is for you. Wont be back.

Terrible place. If I could give it no stars, I would. The person who answers the phone is incredibly rude. The food is mediocre at best and the same price as other restaurants which have food of much better quality. I have been ordering from this place for nearly years, and the people have been progressively terrible and the quality of food has gone down. Can't decide if its a case of new owners or if the people there just stopped caring.
