Hatch: Coffee With a Purpose

Used to love Hatch and their yummy breakfast sandwiches. Will stop eating there now because the last three times I’ve ordered the food has been a very different quality, so I guess this is their new MO. I paid for extra chili aioli and extra cheese this time because the last two times it came with a minuscule amount and the bagel was extremely dry and didn’t taste fresh. The turkey sausage has become so small is only covers a fourth of the regular sized bagel, and it comes cold every time, as if heated from frozen but not fully. The side of bacon I got was inedible because it was hard as rock (I love crispy bacon, so not that), and the hashbrown was soggy and undercooked. Nothing redeemable about the changes they’ve made here. Unfortunate.

Terrible service. Super rude staff, will not go back!

This might’ve been a one-off event and I was just unlucky this visit, but the coffee beans were burnt and therefore extremely bitter and unpleasant in flavor. Given the positive feedback from others in the past, I’d consider trying the coffee again when I visit in the future. The employees are all very nice though!

Nobody has been this rude to me in a long time. Also, the coffee was several notches below “acceptable minimum”. But… I might try it again because of the location.

I love this location nestled in the South Huntsville public library, the ladies that work here brighten my day and their homemade syrups are just so tasty!

Kid-friendliness: Coloring books and pencils provided for adults and kids. And the kids library room is just a hop and skip away

Tasty coffee & tea with fun cookies too. A pleasant staff. It's in a wonderfully calm location with some fun diversions.

Great atmosphere. A nice place. It's not a third-wave coffee place though with attention to coffee quality. They use a medium roast coffee from Old Towne Roasters called Sunshine or something.

Parking: Parking is on the backside of the building.

Hatch is an amazing program for young adults. Teaching soft skills as well as hands on culinary skills sets these folks up for success!

Great coffee!

Delicious fresh food and fabulous coffee! And all made by students who are learning and growing as part of a thoughtful program. What a terrific mission! And you can visit a spectacular library in the same trip!

Wow -- delicious, fresh, and impressive menu offerings planned by Huntsville's own Chef Ruth Mercado! Excellent service, creative staff, I really need to try that "Persephone's Kiss" cold brew... Where else can you find the best coffee, a great library, a makerspace, and a Friends used book store on site -- you'll never want to leave! ♡
