Got the pork sandwich and it was phenomenal. Could benefit from some music inside.

Woof. my wife, our friend and I decided in advance to come here for dinner, and it absolutely did not disappoint. It's rare that I will order more food after the first round to go, but the smoked sausage had me back up at the counter and begging for as much as I could get to take with.
My friend had a Smokehouse cheeseburger with a side of mac and cheese, and was absolutely filled by the end of it. My wife had the Batty Fries with pulled pork and onion rings, and was so stuffed she had to get a to go box! I personally had the meat sampler, and absolutely scarfed every piece of food on it, before going back and asking for more smoked sausage. I have never in my life had sausage that just melts when you bite into it, and that was an experience I will gladly come back for.
The owners/staff were very friendly and happy to hold a conversation, and gladly answered any questions I had for them. If you are in the Huntsville area, definitely come and give this place your business, as you won't regret it!

saw pictures of this restaurant's food online- location is a little bit strange and out-of-the-way but service and taste was amazing. Definitely recommend the vinegar coleslaw, sausage, the brisket and the green chili cheeseburger. Staff was very friendly, helpful and thoughtful especially when regarding quality of the food. Definitely eat at this place good value for cost.

Having grown up between Texas and Oklahoma I was missing a good Texas style BBQ and they do it right.

Was beautifully decorated, cool and comfortable, made you feel welcome like a backyard barbecue with friends. The food they make they hold to an incredibly high standard and trust me you’ll appreciate it as well as I did. I had the 50/50 plate with brisket and pulled pork and my pregnant wife had the pulled chicken plate. Everything, including the sides and the banana pudding were perfectly done with a hint curiosity of what the extra deliciousness in each course was.

I’ve tried this place twice now and both times I’ve had the brisket and well.. it’s on the dry side and not very much flavor. I’ve had the fries before and they were okay. Now on the most recent visit I tried the Mac and cheese and banana pudding for my sides. The Mac is dry and flavorless. The banana pudding is a total let down, no flavor, soggy and the bananas were BROWN I’m honestly not even sure you could consider calling it banana pudding. The staff is very nice tho and the atmosphere is welcoming, I just can’t get on board with the food.

**Solid BBQ With Room for Weekend Potential**
I recently visited this BBQ spot and had a generally positive experience. The brisket had a noticeable smoky flavor, which I really appreciated—it’s a hallmark of good BBQ. That said, it was a bit on the dry side during my visit. I suspect this may be due to lower food turnover during off-peak hours, so I’m definitely open to trying it again on a weekend when there’s more consistent flow and fresher cuts coming off the smoker.
As for dessert, the banana pudding wasn't quite my style. I personally prefer firmer cookies in the mix, and these were a bit too soggy for my taste. Still, I understand that’s a matter of preference.
One thing I want to commend is the staff. They were attentive and made a point to check in on how everything was. While I didn’t feel compelled to raise any concerns at the time, their effort to ensure a good experience didn’t go unnoticed.
Overall, it’s a place worth revisiting—especially when the kitchen is in full swing on a busier day.

Kar Char Authentic Texas Barbecue is a straight-up flavor explosion! I’ve devoured their pulled pork, smoked chicken, smoked sausage, gumbo, bacon ranch melt, banana pudding, peach cobbler, and potato salad (yeah, I know, I sound like I need a bigger belt). Every single bite is pure perfection—hands-down the best BBQ I’ve ever had. The meats are smoky, tender, and packed with flavor, the sides are next-level, and don’t get me started on those desserts. This place is my new weekly obsession, and I’m already counting down to my next visit. If you love authentic Texas BBQ, Kar Char is the real deal!

Burnt ends were BURNT and they tried to hide it with a lot of sauce. Tables and trash cans had dried up food all over. Trust me don’t get the Mac and cheese.
