Kona Grill - Huntsville

My husband and I came here for my birthday dinner! Porschea was our server and was attentive to our needs, offering helpful advice on our food choices and engaging with us in friendly conversation. She also brought over a delicious serving of dessert in celebration of my special day. A great first experience at Kona Grill.

Manager was aggressive and absolutely unprofessional when asking for a booth that we’d previously called to reserve DO NOT WASTE money on the lobster, Mac n cheese, nor watered down cocktails. Shrimp appetizer tasted like mayo. Table and menus were sticky and dirty. My toddler enjoyed the Miso soup and lemonade. The other $200 worth of food was dry, cold and bland. Steak fries were good, though. I look forward to them being replaced with a better restaurant, perhaps an actual grill or hibachi restaurant in such a convenient location.

Made birthday reservations for party of 10. Had to send the meat back twice when we ordered Surf’n’turf. Meat both times asked for rare. Overcooked both times and meat appeared to be boiled. Crab Oscar looked like imitation crab slaw. Horrible! Had to ask for drink refills. 17 minutes waiting for drink refills and it’s not busy. Dirty table across from us still dirty 90 minutes later. Manager came over and took one steak off bill when there was a problem with 2 orders of Surf’n’turf. Ordered avocado egg rolls and got 2 only for $21. Ordered potstickers, received 6 for $21. Waste of money, waste of food….. Never ever coming back. Should have gone back to Cheesecake Factory!!!!

from the moment we walked in, service was awful and slow. they weren’t busy at the time of going. we went on a monday night for happy hour. they claim happy hour is all day monday. that’s not the case. it’s stops around 6pm. portions were incredibly small for the price point. our server dipped out mid experience and the manager had to come take care of us. never going back and wouldn’t recommend wasting your time here. water never refilled and never checked on after our food was delivered.

Terrible food (bland at best, four separate dishes), terrible service (forgotten drink orders, no water refills), dirty tables, and bad cocktails. Also, on what planet is TOFU and SHRIMP the same price as an add on?? Look elsewhere. Overpriced for bad food, cocktails and pricing. Oh, the place was almost empty for dinner, that should tell you something.

The fried rice would be much better if the rice were fried over higher heat. It was a bit wet, and the beef was cold.

Happy hour food was mediocre. They did not have the$3 beer because there machine was broken and had not been fixed in a couple of days. They would not substitute a different beer. The woman's bathroom smelled moldy and the trash was overflowing. Last time we were there we were impressed but not this time.

Anniversary date - Kylee took such good care of us! Her recommendations were stellar. I loved the salmon with the sweet chili sauce and the carrot cake was so good.
