Lola's Cocina

I recently saw a social media reel that I was so excited about and it made me so hungry. It featured the amazing Payton Walker from Tennessee Valley Living, exploring the vibes at Lola's Cocina. The food looked so delicious; Then, Phil Sandoval chimed in about bringing the Tex-Mex food and flavors from San Antonio, Texas, my mouth started watering even more and I knew I was in for a treat. I was overly excited, and was there the next day. Being in Huntsville for less than 2 yrs and being from San Antonio Texas I was so ready to try this place out. And they have Big Red soda too!!
I walked in and had the pleasure of meeting Nick the Manager, related to Phil Sandoval. I believe he's also resided in San Antonio Texas at one point, so he knows the greatness of real Tex-Mex food.
In order to try some of the Tex-Mex flavors and foods I'd say venture from the usual items ordered and ask which of these are the most Tex-Mex items on the menu: the Carne Guisada taco with or without cheese on flour tortilla, the Barbacos taco on corn tortilla, the Fideo Loco, Ceviche, the Crispy Dogs, and The Big Red!! Seeing these items on the menu took me back home.
Staff member and cashier at the time Brody was very inviting and professional when my friends and I approached the counter to order. Ella was super sweet, professional, and very attentive wearing a beautiful smile that lit up the place.

Good Mex on par or better than local chains. Very new.

Great new counter service Mexican restaurant for south Huntsville. The food was very fresh, homemade tortillas, well seasoned and with good spice. Worth the visit!

You've got to try this new restaurant. It's not the typical Mexican restaurant. Phil Sandoval has a winner.

Amazing food and atmosphere!!!

Counter order upscale fast food chain feel with breathtaking prices. A Phil Sandoval spinoff (Phil's is great). 42$ for two for lunch was over my pain threshold BEFORE a requested 15/20/25 tip at the register. Food was pretty good, Everyone was friendly. Place was really clean and nicely decorated. Service was fast.

There are plenty of authentic Mexican places with a sit down with waiter experience for less without plastic baskets, cups and silverware. I do not like this model of restaurant and won't return. Cleaner / Trendier than Arby's at 50% higher price.

It’s about time we have a great place to get an authentic Breakfast Taco / Burrito! The Carne Guisada is spot on and I’ve not been able to find Guisada this good outside of Texas. Lunch and dinner choices are just as good!

The Margaritas are awesome as well. Ordered the Prickly Pear Margarita and that was my favorite of any in Huntsville. Love this place, and you will too!

I spent 5 years in CA, so I was excited to be able to get all pastor from a trompo. It was pretty good. A little on the expensive side, but that's Jones valley.

The tortillas were a little thick and doughy, but still good. They did not slice off pineapple in that tacos, as is traditional. But I will say the pineapple taco sauce they serve with them is killer.

We had dinner there this evening and it was delicious!! Very open and light and airy - yellow patio umbrellas add to the festive look - you walk in and go to the counter to order and then they bring you your meal….love having them in Jones Valley!!!!!

What a great new restaurant to have in town. The food and service was awesome. We were there for lunch but can’t wait to go for dinner to enjoy a margarita.

Great atmosphere, delicious breakfast and tortillas hand made. Patio has a beautiful view. Highly recommend.
