They never answer the phone. I called for 45 minutes trying to make a take out order for my son with autism who will only eat their chicken nuggets. By the time I got there they were closing. It's not the first time it's taken 30+ minutes to even get anyone. It was a special reward. All they do is go straight voicemail. We get take out meals from here several times a month JUST to let him get food here and it is not cheap. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Very disappointing service… from the servers to the chef. We were celebrating a 13th birthday and the chef did not interact with our guests at all. He argued with the servers, mixed up orders. When I talked with the manager on staff, he argued with me that the chef is only here to cook, not interact. The facilities are in horrible condition (see attached photo). 0 out of 10…would not recommend.

I was kind of indecisive about eating here but I did anyway because I had been driving for 4 hours but the food wasn't good, didn't get ice in my water, when I asked can I get some I never got it. All of the dressings including yum- yum sauce looked watered down

I would NOT recommend this restaurant because the food was horrible and there was a piece of hair in my son’s food and they didn’t care! The rice was fried hard and they acted as if they didn’t want to be bothered. Also, the waitress added a tip to our receipt and stated that they automatically charge a gratuity for parties of 5 or more when I questioned it but failed to show me the policy in writing and was very dismissive. I will be filing a BBB complaint because this is not good business practice and we will not be returning.

I’ve always thoroughly enjoyed every interaction with the chefs at Shogun. It’s my son’s favorite restaurant and we even go every year for his birthday. However the older lady who greets you and refills your cup has rubbed me wrong more than once. Today I had a party of 3, paid for all the meals, and tipped the chef in cash before he left our table. He was very polite, said thank you and made sure everyone was pleased before he left. When I paid for our meals which was $104 I used my debit card and crossed out the tip line. I sent my son to the car to get more cash for the lady who refills the drinks. When she came back and picked up the receipt she leaned over to me and pointed her finger at the 15% 18% etc tip portion and said you can pick either one and proceeded to point at the other people’s receipt who already left the table because they wrote in their tip. Keep in mind my son is literally walking in with her cash tip in his hand. I told her “MA’AM DON’T YOU EVER IN YOUR LIFE TRY TO SCHOOL/FORCE SOMEONE ON WHAT TO DO WHEN TIPPING IS AN OPTION” then I proceeded to tell her I already tipped the cook because he’s the one who deserves the biggest tip. Then she started saying oh oh oh. I then pointed at my son who’s standing there with the money in his hand and said he went to go get your tip and look how you’re acting and all you did was bring a sweet tea…….I always tip in cash to
make sure the money goes to who I choose instead of the resturant splitting it between employees. One thing i believe in is showing appreciation/tipping and she really pissed me off today. Shogun please put her in the back somewhere because I can feel a good cursing out coming her way or at least teach her common courtesy or manners.

Tonight my friends and I visited Shogun for the first time and we had a terrible experience. First off, their online prices posted are misleading and inaccurate. They're $7-8 more expensive in person, and when I asked that they honor their online prices, I was directly disrespected by their drunken bartender, who admitted to drinking on the job. I do NOT recommend coming unless you want an unpleasant time.

I tipped my waitress cash on fathers day .. the next day I received a notification from my bank that my previous total had been adjusted (she added a extra 12$ tip) ! This resulted in a overdraft fee from my bank … I went to sho gun to request the $30 overdraft fee and 12$ back ! They declined! They also could not produce the store copy receipt that I signed ! In my opinion that is theft & they should be further investigated to see how many other times this has happened! This is a dirty business! Go to New Ichiban

The Good: The food (and show) was a fantastic treat for my fiancee's (Mother's Day) dinner. The portions were huge and well seasoned. Kudos to the restaurant!

The Meh: The restaurant seemed to be extremely short handed when it came to staff (other than chefs). There was no host or hostess. It appears that there were only 3 serving staff on a very busy day. The server for the two tepanyaki 'tables' was also covering another room and it meant we didn't see her for long periods. The bartender was also doing double duty as the back-end cook (so no mixed drinks available).

The Bad: The restaurant interior is showing its age. This venerable establishment opened in 1983. The privacy doors to our dining area were notably damaged. The lights were dim in the entry and hall which helped hide some of the noticeable wear and tear. A small investment to clean and repair would go a long way.

Overall: Good experience. Seeing the huge smile on my fiancee and our kids faces, was well worth the minor issues.

Charging more than what I tipped. Watch your bank statements!! They also tried to charge me 680$ instead of 70$ for my bill. I would keep an eye on this place

Love this place! They have the best food here. The show wasn’t all that but we went for the food and they did not disappoint. My husband doesn’t eat rice so he ordered noodles. Instead of the rice they gave him extra vegetables with his steak, chicken and shrimp. He was very happy. Most places don’t even offer noodles, let alone the extra veggies.
This was In Huntsville, Alabama.

If I could give this place a zero star I would! Experience was awful. I recently moved to Huntsville and figured I would give this place a try as I was really craving Hibachi. This place is completely ran down! The salad dressing was watery, rice was hard, steak, shrimp and chicken wasn’t seasoned and sauces were watered down. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!
