Don't trust the comments, orderd close to $50. Whitening fish tasteless, actually shockingly bland. Jerk chicken is not too spicy like people say. It's dry, if it wasn’t for the spicy on the outside you would be eating cooked chicken. How do you mess up greens and mac n cheese? Taste as if you picked 🍃 from a tree and chew them, zero flavor, whaaat? How? Mac n cheese, even that was tasteless. Plantains not worth mentioning. I mean damn!!! I really wanted some Jamaican food! This is ridiculous! Not edible, unfortunately.

Spiciest food I've ever had. It was so spicy I couldn't even eat it. I don't live in town so I wanted to try something new. I got the plate to go. I wish I had stayed to try to eat it there so I could have shown them that I couldn't even eat it and want my money back. Twenty bucks waisted. Big let down. I gave it to some friends and they also couldn't even eat it. It was like eating hot peppers. Had a procedure that day so I couldn't even cook something afterwards. Very very unhappy.

I’ve been a customer of Chef Lauren since she had Mango’s. Her food has consistently been cooked perfectly. The jerk chicken is always a winner, but is definitely bringing that kick! The fried Whiting fish is a winner for sure. But the best thing here, is the Sunday Oxtails hands down! Today I got the curry goat, also only served on Sundays. The meat itself was just as tender and juicy as the oxtails however the flavor profile is completely different. If you’re going for something slightly sweet and rich, go for the oxtails. If you want that salty and spiced flavor, the curry goat is what you want. Chef Lauren and her staff are always friendly and quick!

The only place that he’s a 5/5 from me, the food is fantastic always fresh, and always flavorful. I remember the first time I brought back the curry chicken here for my husband he said it was the best he had ever had in his life. That the chicken just melted in his mouth. I personally always get the vegan mango chicken and when I say I had to stop coming here for a bit just because I was getting addicted it was ridiculous! Definitely one of the best food spots in Huntsville, Top 5 and it’s not 5 that’s for sure!!!

Y'all have been eating those pseudo iterations around town from 'the best' Jamaican spots. 🙄 If you want real jerk chicken, TAMARIND ISLAND is the only spot. If I want chargrilled chicken and bbq sauce (which you get from these other places), I can cook that on the grill. 😮💨 The mac n cheese...🤌🏽 the best I've ever purchased from an establishment. Cabbage was good as well. Next ima see what them oxtails talking about. 🤤 In summation...Tamarind Island is as close to Jamaica as I've gotten since being in the local area.
