Owner/waiter was very nice and the food was excellent. I had a fajita salad and beer. Chips and salsa were also very good. All authentic, no frills just good.

This is hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant to go to.The best cheese dip,refried beans,and the Pollo La Placita is one of my favorites but you can't go wrong with the other dishes.The staff is awesome and so friendly.Highly recommend this place.

Here for Father's Day. One waiter in the entire place. Very hot. Can't get drinks, nor silverware. People are leaving. Completely pathetic. If you don't have sufficient staff, don't open the freaking restaurant!
I think some staffing problems had them open irregular hours, but I've been happy to see them open more regularly. We have always loved this place.

I came to La Placita Mexican Grill around an hour before they were closing on a Saturday day afternoon. Not many people left, maybe three tables. After about 10 minutes, I finally got up and looked for the waiter. When He finally came to my table, I received the complimentary chips and salsa. Although warm, these chips were overly greasy, and what you'd find at the bottom of a bag, mostly crushed, with only a few that you could actually dip into the salsa with, which was only acceptable and not very good, tasting like something from a jar mixed with fresh cilantro. Again, I will restate that I arrived within an hour of closing. I ordered the barbacoa plate. It arrived with traditional rice and beans, a dollop of guacamole, tomato slice, over some lettuce. All topped with sour cream, which I do not care for. That's my mistake, actually. Serving, Mexican table cream, on the other hand, would be a plus. My barbacoa came looking more like Birria, which is a red chili and spices sauce. No problem, I really like Birria. I also was served two corn tortillas, wrapped in aluminum foil and probably kept warm in a hotel pan. Needless to say, these were gummy and too chewy to eat. I decided not to bring this up to the waiter who, by this time, was bussing tables and preparing to close. Ultimately, the food was just okay. And I left thinking that I will come back and give this place a fair chance to redeem themselves with this less than stellar 3-star review.

Wow! Great food! Very rich in taste - yet, the prices are still reasonable :) thank you. I highly recommend this place for anyone who’s tired of those other pretentious overpriced but lacking in taste restaurants that our area is know for. This restaurant is a total 180! One of the BEST Mexican restaurants I’ve had!
