They have a nice variety of bagels, cookies, croissants, and muffins (those were alphabetized, didja see that?). They also have some soups and sandwiches. Some days they are understaffed. The coffee is made behind the counter, then placed out front, so it may be cold.

So, working at and for UAB has its perks and one of them is Au Bon Pain. We are able to get free water(best water in the whole hospital, plus refills) and their great selection of food items and drinks, from pastries to sandwiches and salads.

Decent food but extra pricey

Terrible, terrible service, expensive, very, very small portions.... The staff act like they DO NOT want to serve you!!!! Never again, I will starve before I go to this place again!

I had a coupon for “free, any beverage”. I ordered a cup of mocha latte with the coupon but a lady there said that the coupon was only for soft drinks and coffee not a special one. I could tell that she did not welcome a customer with a coupon. Her altitude and face expression seemed to look down on me. If the employees do not appreciate having customers with coupons, the company should not provide any coupons in public.

Chicken salad was terrible ! No flavor ! The description sounded DELICIOUS ! But it was like chicken dumped from a can. Took it back, showed her and the cafe lady said " oh yeah . The avocado dressing got left off." She made me another ( of course I had to wait. Again. ) I think they were short handed. And this was about 3:00p.m. I appreciated her trying to fix the problem. But the second sandwich was bland, too. A waste of $ 7.00.

The vegetarian avacado sandwich at around $7 is delicious. They're patient and helpful. As an alternative to the maze to the basement cafeteria, this is the convenient place for trendier food like paninis, smoothies, pastry, and grab-n-go. A natural-light patio feel dining area off the atrium. When you have to be at the hospital, this place can take the edge off of that sometimes awful feeling of bad things happening. Always good to hire clean-freaks in restaurants and get that health rating higher; and servers who know to chat less with each other and more with customers. Little spendy on small items--convenience pricing. Also high-counter seating on windows for solo customers to eat and go. Makes you feel a bit like you're not in the hospital.

Horrible service!!!! You want it, this is the place to come!!! As a employee at mobile infirmary I was shocked!!! An employee made two customers sandwich, WITH HER SAME GLOVES CHECKED THE PEOPLE OUT TOOK THERE MONEY AND COUNTED BACK CHANGE AND CAME BACK TO MAKE MY SANDWICH WITH SAME GLOVES!!! I asked her to change them and she did but had to ROLL HER EYES FIRST!!! I guess if I would have changed a patient and made her food she would not of minded???

All around pretty subpar. The coffee is consistently the worst in the area.

Rude! Cashier and manger were both extremely unpleasant. The cashier scowled at us when we asked for more cream in the canister and the manager did not apologize for an error the cashier made in ringing up our order she just grudgingly corrected the mistake and said, "here's your change."There was no condiments, not one hello, thank you...nothing! Aweful. The guy on the grill was the only help at all. No one there acted like they were there to serve you, they acted like we were a disruption to their day!

Their food is good but they are over-priced.

Healthy options. Open early and very late which is really helpful when you are with someone in the hospital and never know when you can slip away to eat. Delicious food.

The food that I had there was excellent. I very much enjoyed the sandwich I had made, even though they did not have the stuff to make the first two sandwiches I asked for. The muffins were the bomb! Little pricy, but what do you expect at a hospital?

Very nice staff in and out quick and food was awesome

Rudest employees! Mobile Infirmary should do something about them. While purchasing my coffee, the cashier said "I can tell somebody is gonna piss me off today!". Then I came in later to purchase a sandwich and she didn't even speak, she just gave me evil looks. Pathetic service
