Respectably good BBQ located in downtown Mobile. We stopped by there before visiting USS Alabama. We've never been to Mobile so we just did a blind search on google map and found this place. We were concerned about parking but we easily found a spot. It was a nice day so we had our food to go and ate at the park next door. My coworkers and I were in Mobile for a conference and wanted to experience some Alabama BBQ. It was tasty, and hits the spot when you want BBQ, but it is nothing out of this world. I ordered the pork sandwich with coleslaw and pickles. Never got the pickles, but the sandwich was jam-packed with meat and coleslaw! The seasoned fries were perfectly hot, crispy, and not too oily. I am trying to support our small businesses by eating in downtown Mobile but my two experiences at Cotton State BBQ were not that great. The loaded baked potato was very very dry. Way too much of a potato and too little of the BBQ and other toppings. I wont order that again. Then I tried the State Dog. I got my to go order and walked two minutes to my office and the buns on my dogs were absolutely soaked. I had to peel the buns off and just eat the dogs. Not worth my money for...
