Excellent food and a wonderful selection. Home style cooking at its very best!!!
My wife and I just found a new spot to reconnect with our roots in style! Loved the atmosphere, the food resurrected my inner southern soul and the "smooth operator" coconut flavored cocktail made it dance! Cool service and good vibes and great soul food, definitely returning EVERYTIME we pass through Mobile ?!
It was okay. I will give it a 3 star rating. We did have a sweet waitress but food wasn’t that good.
I tried to support Black-owned for Juneteenth but honestly, I was not impressed. The Yung Bleu feast is not a feast! The cornbread.... Jiffy. And the oxtails....there was no ox on the tails, just fat. They were boiled for too long and rubbery to the texture. Very overpriced for the portions and quality.
The food and the service was great. I haven’t been home in a long time and it was refreshing to come to a soul food restaurant that was neat, clean, and the food was delicious.
We were coming home from a funeral and saw this restaurant. Oh, my! I'm so glad we did! The BEST oxtails I've had since my Mama used to cook them. Husband said gumbo was off the charts good. Very friendly folks and great service. We'll be back!
Omg we totally enjoyed the food there I got the beef tip entree with Mac n cheese and yams, my hubby got the Gwen's special which is Ox tails chitterlings with rice and her famous gumbo. Everything was on point and seasoned to perfection, the only thing I'd ask is to give a bigger bowl of gumbo and chitterlings. The Yams taste like they came from my mama house no cap, I will be back for more, we drove from Pensacola for this meal. Team Cash Will Most Definitely be returning to try the rest of the menu. Shouts out to Ms. Gwen for checking on our table? OH YEA FOR APPETIZER WE HAD THE GANG GANG SHRIMP THAT WE WANTED MORE OF THE FLAVOR WAS TO DIE FOR I WOULD HONESTLY GO BACK JUST FOR TWO ORDERS OF THOSE GWEN STUCK HER FOOT IN THOSE POTS.
Food is excellent. Waitress was very nice. The gang gang chicken is awesome. Will return to try the gang gang shrimp.
Great food and service! Love the options as well as prices. Will definitely be back!
Just had fantastic meal of gumbo, fresh collards, and green beans. Everything was excellent, and the service friendly. In fact, the whole atmosphere was friendly even with other guests. Highly recommended.

Service was prompt/amazing however the food was not. I made a pick up order and came in the estimated time. $50 plus order. The sides were better than my entree. Smoothered chops were soggy with breading falling off. Gravy has a lemon flavor. Large portions but disappointed in the flavor.
I decided to take my friends here for a birthday lunch. I wasn't disappointed. This is my second visit. The food is really good, but what pleased me more was the staff team. The staff seemed to enjoy their jobs and giving excellent service. It felt like I was visiting a family member's house. Our waitress Ashley was very attentive and sweet. When you visit, I highly recommend that you ask for Ashley.
I could eat the Gang Gang shrimp and Mac and Cheese for every meal till I die and be ?. The flavor of the greens was incredible. I'll be taking the family this weekend to try the rest of the menu. This place might not be for everyone, but if you have a need for real Soul Food in your life... This is it!
It's home cooking for sure. The dressing had a few hard bits in it so beware of that, but everything tasted like I went for a Sunday lunch at a local southern grandma's house. Would definitely go back.
Our experience on Sunday could have been better. I see some improvements are really needed in order for them to succeed. I ordered the Swai Fish, Greens, Mac/Cheese along with a side order of sweet potatoes. My husband ordered the Fish and Grits. His order came with a fried piece of fish placed on top of his bowl of grits. Served in this manner, makes the fish soft and mushy. The server forgot to bring me my order of sweet potatoes. I had to ask for them. I also had to ask for extra napkins. There was no salt/pepper or condiments on the table. I can honestly say that the food was good, but could have been better. The greens were good, but too many stems. The mac & cheese was dry, but the fish was fried just the way we like it. When we received the bill, we were charged a different price for the tea/soda. The menu stated a price of $1,99 for soda and $2.99 for Tea, but we were charged $2.99 for them both. Would I eat there again? Maybe! I would like to see some improvements to food and service,
