I visited for my birthday and I had tried calling a week ahead to make reservations but the owner wasn’t there and didn’t ever call me back. I called two days before my birthday dinner but the owner still wasn’t there so I was told it was okay to come. There is automatically a 15% fee for a party of 5 which would normally be okay but the server wasn’t attentive at all, the food took a while to come, and some of the food was cold. I love trying new places especially places that sell lamb chops but charging over $30 for four small lamb chops, a small scoop of mashed potatoes, and cold small serving of green beans was astronomical even though it was decorated nicely. The loaded fries were loaded with plenty of meat but some of the meat was cold making them not tasty at all. The stuffed turkey leg was really good though. Other food items were ordered but those were what stood out the most. We were a party of 8 with appetizers and entrees so we spent $30-$50 per person and we weren’t pleased at all with our dining experience.
Simply have NOT had a bad meal here. From the sandwiches to the salads, everything has always been hot, fresh and delicious. The restaurant may not be top of mind when you're thinking of dining out, but do yourself a favor, skip the chain restaurant one night and support a local place with excellent food, a great wait staff and a relaxing atmosphere.
My best friend took me here a couple days ago. I've never been to a bad restaurant until this one. I was excited about the food and was hugely disappointed. The only edible thing was the turkey leg but everything else was so salty that we just boxed up and dipped. I hate that she paid for it but we gave it to homeless folks. Literally disgusting.
Delicious as always!!!
Just happened to find this place by accident while visiting from Ohio. Definitely had the home cooking / family owned vibe. Food was fantastic. Had the fried crab claws, ribs, shrimp & grits, and the crab cakes. All of it was hot & fresh. The wait staff was very polite and attentive. The bread pudding was absolutely amazing. If I lived down here this place would be on my weekly rotation. Thank you all for a memorable experience. My wife and I will be talking about this food for years too come.

Having been fortunate enough to marry a Cajun man, I quickly learned what good Cajun food tasted like. Ms Kim makes every day a good day in addition to cooking food my husband would have loved! Thank you all for you being you!

I loved the grilled salmon with Asiago and dill sauce! I could tell with each bite that the chef loves cooking good food. I would highly recommend you stop in and try their dishes!

So I ordered the Buy 1 get 1 Shrimp and Grits through Uber Eats for me and my guy. Description sounded great! So we get the food and the first thing we noticed was that the portion size was super small. Especially for $26/each at regular price. But we figured since it was BOGO they cut the portion size. Cool. So we taste it and at first taste it was delicious, but as soon as you start to chew, it's way too salty. Long story short, the manager Chris gave me the the run around. We didn't even want a refund. We only wanted to exchange them for the Phillies, which was also BOGO, and cheaper. Didn't care about the money, we just wanted to eat. He told me I had to go through Uber Eats and when they couldn't do it and I called Chris back, he had blocked my number. So we went in person and the young lady was very nice and exchanged our food. Got home only to try the sandwiches and be even more disappointed. We got one steak and one chicken and they were both bland as well as the fries. Idk if it was on purpose or not but either way I will NOT be going back.
Came around dusk and there was not a single light on. Almost didn’t walk in. Maybe I shouldn’t have. Young man who took my order wasn’t nice at all. They were out of mashed potatoes. I asked for collard greens and green beans. Said green beans come with the steak, even though that’s not on the menu and his tone gave me pause. Like I should have known but I have never been here before. Told me I HAD to get a starch. Selected fries. Because I don’t eat everyone’s dirty rice or sweet potato casserole. Which is my right. There was an upcharge which wasn’t explained. Asked for peach cobbler a la mode. Requested ice cream on the side. Said they don’t have ice cream. Well why is it a la mode? Charged me for the whipped cream I didn’t really want. Get my food, it’s so dark inside. I didn’t see the green beans which were packed with my steak and fries. Making the fries very soggy. I asked where they were. Had to look back in the bag to see them. Very dark in this place. Had a guy who was friends with the owner who just walked into the kitchen and talked the whole time. Said he had a business. Wish I had asked him what it was so I could avoid it. Want to support black owned businesses but this could be much better and cheaper. There weren’t any people in there you would think they would have the energy to muster enthusiasm for the customers they have and not come off as condescending for a first time and probably last time visitor. I heard a lot of conversations that a customer shouldn’t be privy to. Maybe it’s slow on the weekends because you play food police with your sides and you nickel and dime the people who eat here. Oh and turn on the lights when the sun is going down. Low vibrational to say the least. Turkey leg was overcooked and dry, Mac & cheese was bland, peach cobbler was sad and steak lacked overall seasoning. Not even close to being worth the price that was paid. Best part were the collard greens and fried okra. If I were to come back, it would be during daylight hours and for sides.

I ordered a fried fish sandwich, shrimp, lemonade, Mac and cheese and corn bread. All my fried foods tasted like I can tell they burnt something in the grease and never cleaned it. Lemonade taste like water. Chick-Fill-A Mac and cheese is better than this place. The saying “ you went a bad time” do not hold up here. A experience is an experience and mines was not good. Only thing good was the customer service.

I wanted to give this restaurant a 5-star rating because the food was great and the service provided by CJ and Kim was outstanding. CJ made my 76 year old mom feel so welcome and he wasn't even our server Kim was. She was so attentive, nice and funny. However, I was disappointed with the owner's. Despite being present and walking around, he didn't acknowledge my request for a brief conversation and seemed unfriendly. As a former restaurant owner myself, I believe that friendly customer service is crucial. I only wanted to commend the servers for their excellent work, as positive feedback is important too.
