Oschcola's Home Cooking Reviews
I wanted to try this food since someone told me that they'd been there and liked the food. Well, I guess our tastebuds are definitely on different levels, because the food I chose (fired pork chop, rice/gravy, cornbread and some baby Lima Beans) was not very good at all!! I seasoned them once I'd gotten home but, this didn't help at all...so it's a nope for me.
Just discovered this gem. The food is the best good southern cooking I have had here in Mobile. My husband is from Georgia and was raised of this kind of food and I took him home my leftovers. He insisted we good back tomorrow after church for lunch. The servings are so large you can't possibly eat them all. which is good that they serve them in a to-go box. The prices are also great.
This is hands down the best place EVER for good ol southern comfort food! Large menu to choose from and everything here is absolutely amazing! Fried pork chops are the best I’ve ever had, the hamburger steaks melt in your mouth, the red beans and rice is absolutely to die for, and both his fried and baked chicken are incredible as well!! Not to mention the delicious sides - collards, homemade Mac n cheese, field peas and baby limas, mashed potatoes and homemade gravy, etc -...read full review

Oschcola's Home Cooking is a hidden gem in Mobile that serves up delicious home-cooked meals with a focus on Southern comfort food. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes, including fried pork chops, chicken and dumplings (available on Thursdays), and a typical order of 1 meat and 3 vegetables, featuring options like baked and fried chicken, red beans and rice, and chop steak. The vegetables are standard home-style favorites such as black eyed peas, greens, green beans, and corn, with an all-vegetable plate allowing for four choices. The cornbread stands out, and the portions are large, often requiring a to-go box for leftovers. The owner is friendly, and the service is good, making the dining experience enjoyable. Meals are reasonably priced, with options available for under $30. Oschcola's is still new and has room for improvement, but the food is consistently good, and anyone who loves Southern-style home cooking will find something to enjoy here.
