Ate here first time and the chicken was pretty good. However, that was all you could eat. The mashed potatoes were terrible. Taste like plastic and so did the Mac and cheese. The green beans were spicy. The lady was not friendly at all. I made my first and last trip in one.

I wanted to try this food since someone told me that they'd been there and liked the food. Well, I guess our tastebuds are definitely on different levels, because the food I chose (fired pork chop, rice/gravy, cornbread and some baby Lima Beans) was not very good at all!! I seasoned them once I'd gotten home but, this didn't help at all...so it's a nope for me.
My wife and I try to go here at least once a week on Sundays. The food is good, and the service good. If you're looking for good down home cooking try here. The typical order is 1 meat and 3 vegetables. Typical choices are fried pork chops, baked and fried chicken, red beans and rice, chop steak, and a couple more entrees. The vegetables are standard home style vegetables, like black eyed peas, greens, green beans, corn. There are several others as well. There is an all vegetable plate that allows 4 choices. If you're looking for good food for a reasonable price Oschcola's is the right place.

Skip the chain restaurants. This is the best small business in Mobile. Hamburger steak w potatoes. Cornbread is great….all the vegetables are perfect. Airport Blvd traffic is rough….but it’s worth it for this quality.

Personally the experience wasn't a good one for me. The Food isn't all that good and the service was like they really didn't want to serve me. Wouldn't recommend this place for people who are good at cooking soul food.
Y'all. I'm not kidding about this place. They sprinkle all of their food with magic. The only problem I have here is whether to get the fried chicken or the fried pork chops. ALL of the sides are delicious. They give you so much food that you have to hold the container with both hands. I always leave with another full meal for leftovers. I don't know what they do to make all their food so good but I hope they keep it up.

Place has went downhill in the year it’s been open. I sat in the lobby for 5 mins and nobody ever came from the back to take my order. I wasted my lunch break coming here. I shouldn’t have to beg you to take my money.

Tucked in a shopping center lies the up and coming jewel of the South. I travel all over Alabama, I know Home Cooking, Country Cooking and Soul Food. This is just what you're looking for. It ain't Cracker Barrel, this has Flavor! Fried chicken or pork chops, red beans and rice, cooked right in front of you if you're early. The sides, child please! You can't go wrong. Don't you dare pass on the strawberry cake.
