Just discovered this gem. The food is the best good southern cooking I have had here in Mobile. My husband is from Georgia and was raised of this kind of food and I took him home my leftovers. He insisted we good back tomorrow after church for lunch. The servings are so large you can't possibly eat them all. which is good that they serve them in a to-go box. The prices are also great.

Fried pork chops are the best Ive ever had, the hamburger steaks melt in your mouth, the red beans and rice is absolutely to die for, and both his fried and baked chicken are incredible as well!! Not to mention the delicious sides - collards, homemade Mac n cheese, field peas and baby limas, mashed potatoes and homemade gravy, etc - it doesnt get any yummier than this ? Go try them now!! You wont regret it! ?

We had lunch here and it was delicious...as good as anything my grandma ever made. I had the fried chicken and three sides and it was all yummy, was definitely not hungry when we left.

I will say that the greens and mac and cheese were great. I only got sides because I don't eat meat. They were polite, and the atmosphere was clean and welcoming.
Food isnt terrible, but it didnt have that home cooked feel to it. The gravy tasted like grease and the fried chicken had bouncy skin. The macaroni and cheese was pretty good but the cornbread was to soggy. Good amount of food for your money, but not very flavorful.

There is a sign that says home cooking, but the food they serve there is definitely NOT any home cooking that Ive ever had! I ordered fried chicken, field peas, corn and mashed potatoes. Idk about you, but my family has NEVER made potatoes from a box, but they tasted just like the box! The gravy was like flour paste, the chicken was battered with flour AND corn meal. It was dark on the outside and undercooked on the inside. I didnt eat it because it literally bled on my styrofoam plate! My husband had fried pork chops, greens and rice with gravy. The pork chop batter was soggy and falling off, there was ZERO seasoning on the meat or the batter, but it was so lightly fried, that it LOOKED like it hadnt been fried yet! The greens were pretty decent tho, except they needed seasoning like everything else we had! Ive had better food in a school cafeteria in the 80s! And we paid $38 for that slop that wouldnt feed to prisoners! As we were leaving, 2 ladies were about to come in. They asked if the food was good and I said NO! They went next door. Im glad I saved them the disappointment that we experienced. We will NOT go back there again! Word of advice to the cook.Salt and pepper are essential USE THEM!

Total was $40 for 2 plates, an extra side and a canned drink. Worth $25 if we are being honest, I ordered a veggie plate for myself and there was more meat than veggie in each veggie ordered. Some sides were watery, fixed by adding a little more seasoning. Overall wouldnt go again. Service was cool tho.
