We were the only ones there, lady at the bar said sit where you like. 1st table dirty (not wiped clean) 2nd, dirty, 3rd we wiped out the seats and sat. Waitress promptly brought menus got our drink order....tea was rank. I ask if we could change them for coke, why? Are they not sweet enough, no it's sweetened I said it tastes bitter....well, I just made it. Didn't expect the BRASHNESS....we ordered food....My husband's steak was a perfect sear and MEDIUM...I ordered hamburger steak....I liked it had enough mashed potatoes to go with the meat portion. Food was spot on. Clean the place up and teach your servers a better way to handle things....and they are charging good prices so, get matching plates and better utensils. I will try again and hope it's improved. ....I mean there were 3 employees at the bar ..no reason for dirty windows, tables and floors......clearly had time to clean for a dinner service......

Visited a few months ago...
Food was cold, waitress wasn't very friendly- I'm guessing because we weren't regulars.
Our silverware was dirty, and the knives wouldnt cut our steak.
For almost $100 for 2 people, we will stick to our favorite steak place, and its cheaper, for more food and better quality. At least we tried. ?♀️

Okay. Try this place like, now!!! This is by far the best steak in Mobile, plus the sides were just as good as the steak itself! It feels like a home cooked 5 star meal, and the local homey atmosphere is absolutely perfect. Literally every aspect of this place was wonderful! Will definitely be returning any time we are craving steak again in the future, and I would go ahead and guarantee his other menu items are just as delicious. So so happy we gave this a try, I’ll never go back to the big chain restaurants in Mobile when we can support local AND get 10x better meals! ?

This my first time ordering and I have been seeing people raving about it months ago so I decided that I want to try something different besides Longhorn Outback etc. I said I’ll try out this place since I’ve been seeing ppl raving about it . So I sent someone to get an order for me and as I was waiting on my food..I went back and start reading the reviews ??♀️ ….I started second guessing like I shouldn’t have went there..but it was too late ..So now my food has finally arrived and let’s just say the reviews were correct …the potato was not fully cooked.. I asked for loaded and it seen as if someone took a scoop of sour cream and threw it on there… a sprinkle of cheese and 3-4 pieces of bacon … the steak was suppose to have been medium well…but it was well done ..tough and fatty …nice size not going to lie ..flavor was good… but it was a bit spicy.. I topped it off wit some mushroom and onions which were good…But I don’t know if it was the time of the night. Because they do close at 10 and I ordered close to 9pm …But yeah I didn’t enjoy to have spent over $25 but my friend had and hamburger and it was good but I wanted a nice steak meal and I was disappointed. Everyone experience is different so try it for yourself ..I was jus giving my review of it .

When my mom and I ate here we weren't expecting much, but we also weren't expecting to be disappointed with our experience.
- It felt like there was no AC. - I kept on smelling a "bug" smell– it's hard to explain, but it didn't smell nice. - Our $10 appetizer consisted of 5 hawaiian bread rolls and some dip. The dip was delicious, but the rolls were a bit laughable. - The wait took longer than anticipated, since it was only the two of us and another family there. I saw our waitress walk out at some point, then return 10 minutes later with a bag from Dollar General. - My mom's steak was tough, but everything else was alright. - There were random pieces of onion and tomato (?) in my pasta, a small enough amount that leads me to believe it wasn't meant to be mixed in. - The name of the restaurant is Steak and Taters, but I didn't really see a variety of such in the menu; I was expecting lots of different steaks, and various ways potatoes were cooked and served. The menu was quiet bleak in reality.
I am being a bit nitpicky with some of these points, but I truly believe this restaurant has some potential. I think with more quality ingredients and a bigger staff (there was only one server), it could be really good. We felt bad for our waitress, so we tipped pretty heavily. Unfortunately, I will not be going back.

I visited this establishment on June 22nd. My experience was mediocre. Our waitress was polite and helpful with questions about the menu. The lasso fries (appetizer) were very good. However, while we were eating them, another worker began to wipe all the tables in the restaurant with a bleach cleanser (straight from the bottle onto the rag for each table). To be clear, no one had been sitting at the tables! I was very displeased with the smell of the cleanser and I didn’t understand why she would be cleaning with a bleach cleanser while guests are eating their food at nearby tables (we were the only ones there). The strong bleach scent made my head hurt and was not pleasant while eating my meal. My entree (NY Strip Steak) was cooked to the temperature I ordered but had a rusty taste to it. I was also surprised the mashed potatoes were instant! Based on this experience, I would not want to visit again.

Me and my wife came and tried it today and we absolutely loved it! She had a sirloin steak and i had the steak burger. Burger cooked perfectly and seasoned well with hand cut fries and plenty of them. Steak cooked perfect with delicious potatoes and wonderful broccoli. This place is a 10/10 in my book the prices are fair for what you are getting. Thank you for a great experience

We went around two weeks ago. The location was difficult to find due to the minimal signage, but we eventually found it. There wasn't a large supper crowd when we visited, which was great. The service was good. We requested medium rare ribeyes, which came out mostly rare and not particularly hot. We are major steak eaters, these steaks were disappointing and season less. The sides are mediocre. Both the asparagus and broccoli were soggy and not hot. Finally, the "loaded potatoes" did not come with sour cream or chives. Overall, nothing stood out, but we would want to return and try again because this restaurant is still relatively new.
If I could give it 0 stars I would. I saw what I would presume to be the owner come to Facebook claiming he had lost traction with business due to not having a liquor license. I am here to say that is absolutely not the reason. -I was not greeted just told "sit where you want" -the menu has the description for items under the wrong item name -straws with no covers on them (mine was broken) -asked for another straw 3x and never got one. -was only 6 tables (all with 4 or less) of people there (at the beginning 7) -2 had been waiting on food for an hour - our waiter (Mattie) hardly acknowledged us even when walking by a few times in the most of me still awaiting a straw -only got an appetizer and the fried pickles tasted like old grease (also that house sauce tasted and smelled like nothing but mayo) -took forever for them to bring my check or take it we just ended up putting a 20 and leaving and letting them keep the change! I personally feel they made us wait in order to make us just give an amount and leave seeing other friends said they had similar experiences. My visit was not at all good. Aside from being able to bring our own spirits of choice, there is nothing appeasing about my experience. And honestly the spirit I was able to bring I never got to drink inside seeing I never got a proper straw to sip my soda I purchased. My time would’ve been spent better taking my spirit home and cooking “steak and taters” myself Chile!

I wanted a salad the waitress said she didn't know if they had salad instead of going to see if they did. Then the table next to me had ordered a salad I had to pace the order with a different waitress.
Again the food is okay. Our first visit the food was amazing. The lemonade isn't the best.

The restaurant itself is ok, it's in a strip shopping center. I wasn't greeted when I got there. The meal was horrible, steak was tough and chewy. I've never seen a strip with a string of fat down the side that was separated when the server sat the plate down, broccoli was overcooked. Fries was warm. They weren't busy, food took awhile to get to me. I will not be returning, if they are charging those prices, they definitely need to step up there game.
