Passed through Mobile and went to the Backlot on a whim to grab a bite. Excellent coleslaw and brisket sandwich and they were both excellent. The chicken sandwich was a little dry, but the fries more than made up for it. A nice place to swing by and grab some great barbecue.

A wonderful addition to our city! I'm so happy to have a place where I can go to sample a variety of foods that change from day to day. It's just a half block off the beaten path so it's free from the excesses of noise pollution and the drunken sidewalks on Dauphin. I wish they had music at the location but I heard that some local musicians were planning to play at the food court to entertain the customers on the weekends. It looks like Mobile might finally be building a real food truck scene full of creative, local, and diverse flavors!
