I will give it 5 stars as I walled in and the atmosphere was great. This is not for kids or kids are not allowed. They should have a warning of this somewhere on Google as we wasted our drive here. I cannot speak for the food.

I cannot say enough great things about Velvet Pig! My menu favorites are the pork belly skewers and the turkey pesto sandwich but everything I have tried is insanely good! Today, I picked up lunch for my office of 20 and they went above and beyond to accommodate our group and all of the orders were accurate and excellent - which is no easy feat!

We had lunch at The Velvet Pig today and the food there is absolutely scrumptious!! I have never had cornbread that good in my entire long, southern life!! Kudos to the kitchen for the delicious food and to our delightful server, Cypress, for such great service!! We WILL be back!!!

What a great experience! Loved the atmosphere! The outside dining and hanging chairs added so much! Everything was super fresh and perfectly presented. Our server, Cypress, was great! She had great knowledge of the menu and was warm and inviting :) The shrimp dip and fish sandwich we're just yummy and the cornbread was so delicious that I got an extra order to take home! I will definitely be back!

We found this absolute gem while at the Ice Box one night. It is perfect for shareable bar food or if you are looking for dinner. We have probably eaten there seven times and have tried different things each time as the menu changes regularly. Everything has been a home run. One of the constants on the menu is the boudin egg rolls. It is one of those dishes that a place gets famous for. I talked to one of the owners (husband and wife team) and she said she was a chef in New Orleans, but it was time to move home and share their experience with Mobile. The husband was a butcher/chef in New Orleans and focuses on whole hog preparation. They have since opened for lunch and it is quick and easy to pop in and have one of the best lunches in Mobile. I love this location and setup, but it will only be a matter of time before it becomes so popular they have to move to a bigger location. Since it is in a bar kids are not allowed, but it is the perfect excuse for a sitter and is our go to place when we go out to eat.

"We're sorry, they are not here this week. They went off to Mardi Gras." No notice on their website. No notice on the door outside--after we waited 20 minutes for the place to open up. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. If you can't stick to your own hours or keep your site up to date, get out of business.

Such an amazing place - we grabbed a frozen G&T from the Ice Box and then ordered some of the best food in Mobile! Everything is delicious! There is never a morsel left on our plates!! A somewhat hidden treasure in downtown MOBILE!

Great restaurant tucked away in Ice Box. You cannot go wrong with a thing on the menu. They are frequently updating the menu with new items that are always awesome. The owners are super talented chefs, and the service is always spot on.

We recently had a group of 40 for Christmas cocktails at the Icebox, and we contacted Max at the Velvet Pig to provide apps. He is absolutely terrific to work with, and the food was incredible. The boudin egg rolls and pork belly skewers are fabulous, and so was the pimento cheese spread. This was our second get together at the Icebox, which everyone loves, but our first pre-arranging food with Max. I can't say enough good things about our experience.
