Always a go to place for myself and my elderly mother. Happy hour is back! 4-6 be there. West Indies salad is not only great tasting but affordable. Buck a shuck! Friend shrimp add on special. Service is awesome. Only complaint (I’ll preface this with I don’t use salt and not a fan of greasy anything)is anything grilled etc was way too salty and too much butter. Besides that, this place rocks. When I come to visit mom we eat there almost every day.

⭐️⭐️ Wintzell’s Oyster House – Mobile, AL Nothing kills an appetite faster than pulling a 12-inch human hair out of your blackened catfish. Yep, third fillet in, and suddenly I’m flossing with someone else’s DNA. Manager walks by, looks shocked, mumbles something half-apologetic… and then? Nothing. No “let me fix this,” no comped meal, not even a “hey, let me tell your waitress.” Just brushed it off like hair in your food is part of the Southern charm. For a table of eight spending good money, you’d think they’d at least send over a drink or dessert after serving up a side of hair extensions. Drinks and oysters were solid, but the way they handled it? Absolutely not. Two stars, and that’s me being generous.

My food was good. I like the oysters and shrimp. I have never had a bad customer service experience here before yet, but I did yesterday. I have a prepaid debit card that I like to use when I pay for things cause I can easily load money on it without giving people any of my other credit cards and debit cards so people cannot take pictures of my card numbers. They would not take it. They stated they cannot accept any gift card other than their gift card. It literally states on the back of the card it can be used anywhere Visa cards is accepted. We asked if we can just go up there and swipe it to pay because it will go through and they refused. Every time any company or location states they cannot accept my prepaid debit cards, I explain it will work just swipe it. They do and never have a problem. They refused to even try. I have owned a finance company and tried to explain to just swipe the card to pay with it. I may give them a try again later, but that was just a very bad and weird customer service experience for no point.

We are home celebrating my 50th McT HS Class Reunion. When we’re home, we always try to stop by one of our favorite places to eat. Wintzell’s Oyster House is that place. We love their seafood gumbo. Actually we love everything on the menu. We had the combination lunch special. Fried shrimp, fried oysters, fried catfish & hush puppies & a side of grits. My wife had the same, but ordered a baked potato w/butter & sour cream for her side. The food is reasonably priced. We had an awesome server name Brandi, who provided excellent service to us. Thank you Brandi!! 🙏🏽❤️❤️❤️👊🏽

My mom and I had a taste for some good tasting seafood , we were seated and promptly are server came to are table,she introduced herself (Ava) and ask us how we were doing she had a pretty smile. Ava was extremely helpful with our order and Ava was spot on when it came to the bread pudding!! We will definitely ask for her on our next visit ,which will be very soon !!!!

The whole menu looks amazing but we had the oyster sampler and gumbo along with raw oysters. You can't go wrong. Monterrey and Bienville are great choices for oysters. Gumbo was good as well! We will be coming back. Great place to watch a football game or celebrate a birthday!

The whole menu looks amazing but we had the oyster sampler and gumbo along with raw oysters. You can't go wrong. Monterrey and Bienville are great choices for oysters. Gumbo was good as well! We will be coming back. Great place to watch a football game or celebrate a birthday!
