Over the years I’ve been here before, but I came in particular December 25 to visit Jimmy Buffett’s birthplace in Mississippi and thought I’d treat myself to some oysters at Wintzell’s Oyster House The Sucker/Server was a very intelligent and engaging young man …. I’m in my 60s and these days it’s not often someone of his age finds time to have a conversation or even expand on different things in conversation. I was there on December 26. I believe the young man’s name was Seth ? I had a dozen charred oysters and your West Indies salad all were excellent

I have not eaten here since 1984 and it won't be so long until I revisit again. The beer was very cold, and the oysters where fabulous and on sale for $12 a dozen raw. I especially loved the mixed specialty platter of oysters.

Absolutely loved Wintzell’s! We were driving through and was looking for lunch but it was so good we’re definitely stopping by Mobile again just to eat here. Food was incredible - oysters were fresh, shrimp and grits were tasty and one of the best gumbos we have ever tasted. Service was excellent - everyone was so friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable.
Food was delicious! Our server was so personable and funny, wish I could remember his name. The area, however, was kind of sketchy. The kind of area that you clutch your purse a little tighter. But overall, it was a great lunch spot.

Our visit to Wintzell’s Oyster House was outstanding. The food was excellent, the oysters were plentiful and fresh, the beer was cold, and the prices were very reasonable. The service, however, was what truly set the experience apart.
A special thank-you to Jay #1, who went above and beyond. He was attentive, friendly, and genuinely made our family of five feel welcome. His professionalism and hospitality made the meal even more enjoyable.
Overall, Wintzell’s delivered a great dining experience from start to finish. Highly recommend, and we will absolutely be back.
