I specifically ordered the gumbo and it wasn't to my liking. However other people in my party enjoyed their food. The service was very good. Overall, I think I will give it another chance and order something different.

I don't know where to start, so I'll just dive in. After having a bad experience at 2 Wintzells locations in Mobile. I can truly say I'm done.On this visit, granted, we did arrive at 9. Closing was at 10 pm. It took 38 minutes just to put our food orders in. Another 30 to 35 minutes to get that food. The waitress never stopped by to tell us anything about wait time. Seems like she made it a point to service other tables and not come to us. By the time the food made it, we were about 10 seconds from walking to the bar to pay for our drinks and leave. We should have. None of the food was edible beside the fried pickles. They were just barely edible. The waitress got very annoyed as soon as we expressed that we were unhappy with our oysters. We all ordered oysters. Out of the 34 oysters we ordered, we only collectively ate 2 to 3. They were overcooked and obviously not fresh. The special mardigras drink was just ok. The top shelf margarita was just sad.The manager came over at the end of the experience. She apologized for what happened and assured us it was not "common practice." Seemed like it was. There were 3 other tables that had things taken off their ticket due to wait time. Our waitress told us that "they get like this at the end of the night." What a disappointment. It's not worth another visit for me.* (Not pictured are the 6 oysters that were supposed to be replacements for a shriveled batch sent back. The waitress told us the grill was shut down and that if we still wanted them, they'd be broiled and not good.)

Reliable Wintzell’s. They seated us when promised, our server was fantastic, and we had a good selection of local IPAs.My shrimp sampler was good, but I’ve had better.Parking: It was 6pm on a Saturday evening and we had to cruise the streets for a spot.

Just had the BEST oysters in Alabama! Wintzell's did not come to mess around. The restaurant had a warm southern charm with extremely friendly waitstaff. Our server Jon Jon was so pleasant and incredibly customer service driven. He gave the best recommendations which didn’t disappoint. The gumbo was delicious and served nice and hot. The fried green tomatoes were fried to perfection and complimented with an amazing side of their tasty crawfish sauce. The star of the show was hands down the chargrilled oysters. Never knew how much I needed oysters in my life til now! Will DEFINITELY be back!

A classic Mobile establishment that never disappoints. The food has been too notch for decades. Try the gumbo for sure. The J.O. Platter never disappoints if you crave variety.In recent years, the beer lineup has been expanded and features some of the local brews.

This is an experience you’ll never forget! The food, service, and atmosphere are phenomenal.We tried oysters for the first time- the oyster sampler- and found the flavors to be well developed and quite delicious. We also tried the fried pickles (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️), shrimp sampler (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️), and the Cajun seafood pasta (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️).The restaurant has funny, uplifting, and thought- provoking quotes plastered over every inch of the walls. This makes for easy and light meal conversation. My 10 year old daughter was laughing and reading the whole meal.We highly recommend!!

Everything was amazing. I have no complaints. The service was great. Our server was nice, fun and gave great recommendations. The drinks were spectacular...strawberry daiquiri with extra shot. The food was sooooo good. I got the shrimp and grits and it was enough for two people. Everything was seasoned to perfection....not too salty and not too bland. I did get the crawfish sauce on the side.
Food was just okay. Nothing great. The service was excellent. Very expensive. Went back again. They got the order wrong and still charged us. Had to get the manager to correct the bill. The oysters gave my son the runs. Will not be going back.

I’m 61 years old and have eat here a lot through the years. The other night was my last time to eat here. From the moment we walked through the door, hostess had an attitude, slung our menus down, waitress was using her phone so much, she neglected all of her customers, the raw oysters were the size of a dime A DIME! Should have NEVER been served and they were $19.99 a dozen. Bought oysters somewhere else today (less than a week later) and I will show you what they look like. Don’t waste your time eating here. You will regret it! Below is a picture of what I bought today somewhere else. And I got a whole quart (a lot more for the money)!!!
