Yumi Yaki gives you a somewhat unique experience. In Mobile it's the only one I've found where you pick your proteins, carbs and add ons and then hand it off to the kitchen, where they perfectly cook your delicious meal. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Cup never empties.
The atmosphere is sparse, but it serves the business well as there is decoration, and such but nothing that makes it completely unique to the space. Nothing bad. Nothing exceptional. Just works.
The only criticism I have is the variety of things to put into your bowl.
Otherwise this is great for a date or family with bench seating.

Yummy yummy YUMMY Yaki was so Devine. The food was absolutely fantastic. The setup is great and the workers are so attentive. The food is brought to you steaming hot and you make it from scratch. You can have anything you put in the bowl so the challenge is to stack it high with skill and talent. I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone. We are definately going back and bringing anyone and everyone with us. Thank you for a mouth watering experience. Loved the food from the first bite to the last. Dinner bowl is 15.99 without extras. Very well thought out and done.

Fresh and fast. We were greeted and brought to a table immediately upon coming through the door. A smiling server come over to the table only moments later to explain how everything worked and to take our drink orders. We ordered wings as an appetizer off the menu and the yakatori build your own bowl. We put our names and table numbers on our tickets and selected which base we wanted from the options of white rice, fried rice, brown rice, udon noodles or lo mein noodles, there is an option for noodles and rice for 3.00 extra. We proceed to the yakatori line where we filled our bowls (your finished food will be in a much larger bowl) with which ever fresh ingredients we wanted in our food, there are lots to choose from. Then we selected which seasonings and sauces we chose to have our food cooked in, then waited for one of the cooks to take the tray and returned to our table. After a few minutes our food was brought to our table piping hot and smelling delightful. Everything was exemplary, vegetables still had the perfect crunch, proteins were cooked through, and starches were cooked exactly the way they should be. I'm an avid eater and could t quite finish everything, which is fine because my personal black hole gladly finished my bowl off. Our friend finished but was happily full bellied too. You guys should try this place. No need to sub or switch anything out because it is only what you choose. Sorry for the lack of food pics, we were hungry and it smelled to good to wait.

Love this place food is hot off the hibachi grill only wish the bowls u pack your food in was a little bigger wish u could use one bowl for veggies and another bowl for meat but other than that food is pretty good to me ive been multiple times now great every time

The service here was great! Every time we needed anything they were there immediately to help us. The chicken noodle bowl that I got was a little bland but with some soy sauce was good, and the portion size was huge. The Thai tea was amazing.
