Eat there every Saturday but prices went up food went way down.give it a nother try this morning same as before good food grate old building good service but not worth the price for the food you get.one of my favorite places for breakfast just can't. See the cost for just eggs and bacon.

(Sunday Brunch) It seemed like they were understaffed for the day. Nice waitress but it just felt like she was having to do a lot & couldn’t check up on patrons. We received our food about 12 mins after ordering. It was mid. The best thing on my plate was the biscuit. It wasn’t bad but the menu said “southern” and I was expecting more flavor. The music playlist was good too but we won’t be back.

My husband and I were looking for a place downtown lunch today. He and I have each been to cahawba house separately on different occasions. We only had an hour to do lunch so we called in our order so we could have it ready and eat it there. He ordered the pastalaya and I got the burger and fries. When we arrived there we were greeted and paid for our food. We were informed that they were out of the waffle fries and so they just had cut up some potatoes they had and fries them and did that as a substitution.
We sat down to eat and took out our food and the pasta lie was in the smallest to go container for a $13 meal. The garlic toast on top was the most exciting part of it honestly. The pastalaya didn't taste bad but could easily be made at home. The burger on the other hand did not taste at all like a cheeseburger it was a "crumbled" Burger as they call it but it did not resemble a burger at all. We paid $1 extra to have a tomato and lettuce on it and it was more like eating crumbled up meatloaf. I did not even care to finish it as it was so unappealing. As we were eating our meal the one person working the front of the house needed to take an order outside and had to ask us to help open the door so she could serve the other customers.
While we were there finishing our meal she brought out some food to other customers that did indeed have the waffle fries on their plates. So a little confused as to why we were told they didn't have them today? I would have rather have waited than have unseasoned cubed potatoes for $3. We sadly won't be returning to this local spot I gave it two stars because the shop itself is kind of quaint and nice and the girl working the front was kind. But I would not be going for the food that for the size is overpriced.

Parking: Weekdays it's all paid meter parking. I believe weekends are free.

Delightful small business. Not too busy until the weekend brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays, I hear. It was a great, quiet place for lunch. The food was delicious, the service was quick and cheerful, and the cook came out to thank us for coming. Will definitely be going back for brunch another day!

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The waffles were sour, and the chicken was disgusting and completely lacking in seasoning. When we asked for a refund, they declined and offered no other measures to ensure our satisfaction. Additionally, I felt there was a discriminatory attitude towards us. The staff was kind and attentive to the family next to us but dismissive towards us, and no one checked on us during our entire meal. I would not recommend this place based on my experience.

Had a perfect breakfast here while on our way to the National Memorial for Peace and Justice. Perfect, soft, fluffy eggs, deeply crisp bacon and a drop biscuit as good as any I’ve ever eaten, including my Aunt Anita’s! Coffee was also excellent - smooth, mild and frequently topped off. Had chicken and waffles the day before - way more food than I could eat at lunch but unbelievably tender and juicy. Add a biscuit and get the Bramble Jam - yum!!! At the moment they are open only on Saturday and Sunday but definitely worth a visit, maybe even both days!

Great little restaurant. Came for breakfast and it didn’t disappoint. We had the southern biscuit and all American platter. The biscuits are fantastic and I loved the fried green tomato on the southern biscuit. As with many places they are short on staff but handled it well and food and service were worth it. Would definitely come back.
