“My very favorite restaurant in Baton Rouge. Great variety of foods; have liked just about every dish I've tried. Most of the time the servers are very attentive; occasionally when extremely busy, it might take a few extra minutes for the food to reach the table. Have never left hungry or dissatisfied. I've introduced dozens of people to this restaurant -- all seemed impressed.”

“29 Feb 2024: Another amazing dinner with our friends at VY. I had the Pekin duck breast with Madeira brazed mushrooms, simply outstanding. Impeccable service as well and s strawberry cheesecake to die for!31 March 2022 update: We just came back again after a over a year avoiding restaurants bc of COVID - as great as ever! We sat on the patio, enjoyed live music, and had an amazing dinner!We started with fresh oysters and cocktails, proceeded to the catch of the day #alabamaseafood and enjoyed a bottle of Rosé, together with our two friends who also had an awesome experience with fish selections, redfish and grouper - super fresh and delicious!Kudos to Sara - she kept our group well-served with bevs and even got the bar to serve a nice louched absinthe on request. Also so nice to see AJ is still there and him saying hi, was a nice treat!2020: Just had an amazing take out dinner for 4 for $50 from Vintage Year(prime rib for 4, salad, and dessert=dinner and lunch for us), Please support our awesome restaurants and their families during these times!Check out their coronavirus takeout menu. “I decided to stop by because of the interesting restaurant name. I was going to try only one slice of pizza and ended up ordering an entire pizza! This is now my favorite pizza spot in Montgomery! I ordered at the counter and the wait was not long at all. My pizza was hot, full of flavor, and the staff provided friendly and fast service. The staff is two standard deviations above average for Montgomery with food service. Nice atmosphere with a TV to watch whatever game is on. The food came out fast as did the drinks. “This is a great gathering place or a good spot to work (with earphones). Staff was very friendly and welcoming. You can tell there are a lot of regulars, but they treat the first timers like they want them to become regulars. I can’t speak to the food because the first time I went to try to have lunch there was no food….i see they have a food truck and would love to try it but I’m unsure as to the hours.Parking: There is a parking lot in the back that holds about 7 and free street parking in the neighborhood”

“Had dinner here tonight with my Dad, brother, and nephew. Could not be more pleased with every aspect of our experience here. The kale and avocado salad was fresh and flavorful while not overly dressed. Who really likes kale? Well, I eat it because it’s healthful, but this was also delicious. Two in our party had burgers and loved them. One had pork tacos and loved them. I had sautéed veggies, deliciously spiced sweet potatoes, and perfectly cooked brussels sprouts. Loved all three. Nothing was oily or ruined with butter or salt or overcooked. And people were so friendly from the minute we walked in until we left. Service was attentive, but not obtrusive.I came straight to Montgomery after a week in Charleston and Kiawah eating at some of the best restaurants in the nation, so my standards were set high.I would say this is Charleston quality food, but with a better overall experience because a) it wasn’t jammed packed with obnoxious people from the northeast, b) the food wasn’t overpriced, and c) I didn’t feel like a number!So happy for Montgomery to have such a great restaurant. I will be eating here the next time I’m in town! Hope y’all stay in business forever!Vegetarian options: They have great vegetables and are happy to make tweaks, such as leaving the parmesan off the sprouts, to accommodate. “Indian cuisine is one of my favorites. There is a bountiful assortment of selections at India Palace. Some of my faves; Goat Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala, Palek Paneer, and Chicken Vindaloo. All of the Biryani and Curries are outstanding. Spicy doesn't have to mean blazing hot. Spicy means flavorful as well. The flavors are plentiful at India Palace. I always get a refreshing Mango Lassi beverage (or two). The staff is friendly and attentive. I love this place.”

What saved the meal was? My daughter and I split the caramel banana French toast. It was exquisite. The service was excellent as always.”

For me, the biggest appeal of Waffle House has always been their hash browns, which you can get basic or topped with a variety of toppings such as chili, white sausage gravy, cheese, ham, onions and so many more items and you can combine these toppings in a multitude of ways.For my main course, I have usually gone with their patty melts or one of their egg breakfast options. I myself can see the strangeness that I have never had a waffle in a business where waffle is in their very name, but I prefer a more savory breakfast than a sweet one.This particular Waffle House offered me an overall positive breakfast experience. I've learned to check my order ticket because their math doesn't always math right.The main draw for me with Waffle House is whether you're in Tennessee or Arizona or Florida, a Waffle House is a Waffle House. They are usually fast and the restrooms are clean.Parking: Unless it's 230am on a Friday or Saturday, 6am during the work week or 11am-2pm/7-9pm on a Sunday, they usually have plenty of parking.Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu and some locations have crayons for kids.Wheelchair accessibility: Their doors are wide enough for most wheelchairs. There are not any electric door openers, and if it's an older store, they have an outside door that lets you into an entryway area with another heavy door to actually get into the restaurant.The stores have a low counter that is the right height for wheelchairs and their booths are the right height for a wheelchair to be able to fit close enough to enjoy a meal.”

“Scott Street Deli June 19, 2023 I was cruising Facebook this morning and saw a posting that Scott Street Deli would be open today. What a great idea for a Monday lunch. When Mrs. Bunny worked downtown on Dexter Avenue we’d make an occasional lunch trip to Scott Street Deli for some of their tasty sandwiches. She retired last July so we don’t have the need to travel to downtown Montgomery as much. This being a federal holiday for Juneteenth I guessed that there would be less overall lunch traffic, so we left sunny rainy Mitylene and drove to Scott Street for lunch. The rain got heavier as we parked and headed inside the Deli. It’s OK… we’ll dry out. I got in Line 1 and placed our order with the Sandwich Artist… a large Frencheletta for me, a regular Club for Mrs. Bunny. While sandwiches were being made I picked up Chips and Sodas for us and paid Kathy (the owner) for our meal. I secured a table and waited for Mrs. Bunny to arrive with our sandwiches. My Frencheletta was large and meaty and quite a handful to navigate. Mrs. Bunny enjoyed her Club. There are many sandwiches on the menu but somehow we always gravitate to the Frencheletta and Club. Creatures of habit we are. I promise I’ll try something new next visit. As they say, “so many sandwiches, so little time”. As we sat there in-house and to-go orders came and went. It was a busy place this afternoon. We thanked Kathy for a great meal and headed out before the rains got heavier. Scott Street Deli at 412 Scott Street in downtown Montgomery is open weekdays from 9:45am to 2:30pm. You can order for takeout at 334/264-9415 or on their website at www.ScottStreetDeli.com. “This was my (and my wife's) first time to eat here. My wife said that her small Cauli Breakfast pizza (cauliflower crust) was probably the best pizza she's ever had in her life! My daughter and I shared a half & half large Margherita/Pine & Swine, and it was perfectly cooked and ridiculously good! (Half & half is only available with a large pie.) She asked for some Ranch dip for hers, but they don't have it. Waiter Samuel brought some Gorgonzola dip, and it was good, but, if he had told us it was Ranch dip, we wouldn't have known the difference. I got some of that and some marinara for myself. Samuel kept our drinks full, and he got us to go boxes for our pizza we didn't eat & lids for our leftover sauce, as well as to go drinks, when we were ready to leave. We were inside, but the garage door that separates the inside from the outside was open, and either a strong breeze from outside or the fan above us (to keep out the bugs) or a combination of both made us feel like we were trying to eat during a hurricane. It was blowing our napkins, straw papers, menu all over the place and kept my girls relatively cold throughout our meal. I imagine it also caused our pizza to cool off faster than it might have otherwise. I suppose we could have insisted on being reseated, but we didn't. That small issue wouldn't keep us from coming back, but it will ensure that we choose a different seating location the next time we come.Be aware--this place is good, but it's not cheap! (My only gripe was walking away smelling like bbq smoke) I haaaaaate this so bad! The rib plate comes with about 5 bones and two sides. $18 roughly. This was a serious plate with great portions! Definitely had leftovers. I got coleslaw and baked beans to go along with my ribs. Both sides dishes were exceptional! Sooooo good!!! The bbq sauce was amazing as well. “One of the best bars in Montgomery. I am a hotel bartender in the city myself, and this is one of the few bars I reccomend to newcomers to the city. Every member of the bar staff is knowledgeable, friendly and legitimately interested in everyone having a good time and finding a drink that suits their taste. I can say "surprise me" and never be disappointed. Huge selection of spirits, and beer, with a staff that is knowldgeable about every part of that extensive menu. Truly impressed and enthralled with this bar, I can't and will never stop reccomending it.”

The ribs, pork, and chicken were very dry and needed the BBQ sauce. The ribs were dissapointing since the meat did not fall off the bone like the OG Tuscaloosa location. The hickory sausage was delicious and very much worth a meal in itself. The mac and cheese was good. The house made chips were good when they were crispy, but some were soggy from the meat on them. The BBQ sauce is really good and potent, defiantly worth taking a jar home. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The toilets are clean.”

“It’s been one strike after another every time we’ve gone out to eat at a “chain” restaurant but this place gives me hope! We went in for the first time yesterday and Tyrone took amazing care of us. The food was amazing (we were craving burgers), the service was fast, and Tyrone was awesome. He took the time to make sure the food was right, we were happy, and made it an overall great experience. “This place crushes it every time. The margarita was icy cold and the fajitas were both hot and tasty. Portions were large and prices were very reasonable. The staff is two standard deviations above average for Montgomery with food service. Nice atmosphere with a TV to watch whatever game is on. The food came out fast as did the drinks. “Jacob was our server on a busy Sunday evening. He was amazing. Friendly, funny and hard working. They were short staffed that evening (he was the only server, there was one bar tender and one cook on duty) and he managed it gracefully while keeping his cool and making sure we got great food and service. I would recommend it just to have him again! Hope he sees this! We were the table full of gals who you met in the street to return a hair clip. Thanks for making our dinner great!”
“This was my (and my wife's) first time to eat here. My wife said that her small Cauli Breakfast pizza (cauliflower crust) was probably the best pizza she's ever had in her life! My daughter and I shared a half & half large Margherita/Pine & Swine, and it was perfectly cooked and ridiculously good! (Half & half is only available with a large pie.) She asked for some Ranch dip for hers, but they don't have it. Waiter Samuel brought some Gorgonzola dip, and it was good, but, if he had told us it was Ranch dip, we wouldn't have known the difference. I got some of that and some marinara for myself. Samuel kept our drinks full, and he got us to go boxes for our pizza we didn't eat & lids for our leftover sauce, as well as to go drinks, when we were ready to leave. He checked us out up front, as I used Apple Pay on my phone.Our only problem was our seating location. We were inside, but the garage door that separates the inside from the outside was open, and either a strong breeze from outside or the fan above us (to keep out the bugs) or a combination of both made us feel like we were trying to eat during a hurricane. It was blowing our napkins, straw papers, menu all over the place and kept my girls relatively cold throughout our meal. I imagine it also caused our pizza to cool off faster than it might have otherwise. I suppose we could have insisted on being reseated, but we didn't. That small issue wouldn't keep us from coming back, but it will ensure that we choose a different seating location the next time we come.Be aware--this place is good, but it's not cheap! Our two pizzas and three drinks (no alcohol) set us back $69 (including tax & tip).Vegetarian options: There are plenty of vegetarian options.Dietary restrictions: They have cauliflower crust for gluten-free diners, and my wife said it's the best pizza she's ever eaten!Parking: There's an abundance of free parking.Kid-friendliness: It's pizza! I saw nothing that would discourage me from bringing my kids with me (unless you are trying to protect your kids from ever seeing another person drink an alcoholic beverage).Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp and double doors at entry.”
“I was driving through Alamaba and had used Happy Cow to find some vegan options. Plant Bae was only a few minutes off of the interstate, and I was able to easily find parking. Indoor and outdoor seating. The entire menu is vegan. I got the quesadilla and had to try the fried pickles as well. The pickles had a little kick to them. My only regret is that I didn't try a dessert. The portions are pretty generous and the food is very filling. It may not be the place for you if you're trying to eat healthy or lose weight, but I will definitely be back here the next time I'm in Montgomery”

“The food is always fresh and it is super hard to find good authentic tacos… definitely recommend the quesabirria… it is a marinaded shredded beef taco with cheese… Bomb.!!! My kids love their Marichabirria…!!! Definitely recommend.!!! You should try it out… they also have Jarritos or Mexican Cokes… their salsas are always delicious too so try them out…”
