Restaurantji's Montgomery recommendations for the finest Mexican cuisine.
“This place crushes it every time. The margarita was icy cold and the fajitas were both hot and tasty. Portions were large and prices were very reasonable. The staff is two standard deviations above average for Montgomery with food service. Nice atmosphere with a TV to watch whatever game is on. The food came out fast as did the drinks. I will definitely be back.“
“True authentic Mexican food. Some of the best around the area.Update: still one of the most authentic Mexican places you will find. Food is always served hot, you can taste the freshness of the ingredients. Don't let the exterior fool you, once inside, you are in for a real treat!“
“I've been coming here over 20 years and have never had a bad experience. They are extremely consistent.Kid-friendliness: A lot of the employees have been there pretty much the entire time I've been going. 20+ years. They have literally watched my kids grow up and have always been very kind to them.“
“The food here is always on point??I usually call my order in and they always answer and have my order ready when I arrive. I've been coming here for about a year now and recommend anyone who enjoys Hispanic food to come and try.Wheelchair accessibility: The building is wheelchair accessible.“
“We can towards the end of the night. The server was distracted. Did not watch glasses. They do not have standard salsa but the caso was great and the brisket burrito was good. Friends say it's their Fried chicken that I should have gotten.“
“I did not liked the food and service in my first “2” visit. but my friends say they love this place. Though I won’t be going again.4 Star bcz first time when we went, they took off the charge for the order that came very very late right when we were about to leave and gave us in TO GO box, though we refused.2nd time, we asked for Hot sauce on top of Burrito and that was super super hot. We couldn’t eat more than a few bites. We did not complained but our disappointment was identified by one of their employee and she took off the charge.I could have given 5 star for their kindness of taking off charges of uneaten food but our server “the old man” he failed in hiding his furious face and seemed arrogant rude with negative attitude.“
“I was expecting an average experience but was wowed by multiple things. The staff were friendly and I never felt rushed as I went through all the possible toppings for my nachos (and there's at least 25 available "free" toppings). The food was brought out quickly and was topped high with everything I ordered including guac and grilled jalapeños. Male sure to stop by and experience the great food and awesome staff!“
“Oh Moes, most people already know about Moe's but here it goes. This location isn't bad. They didn't yell welcome to Moe's on this occasion... To anyone, so that's a win for me. For anyone who is new to Moe's it's basically build a burrito/taco/quesadilla out of what we have in heated containers behind the bar. Food was good in spite of them being out of pico at the time and the odd chewy chip. I got the stacker with adobo chicken and bacon. Not spotless but not too dirty. Associates could probably act less like they regret their life decisions, but overall it wasn't a bad trip to Moe's“
“Reasonable prices for their well served plates. Pretty much what I expected from a good taqueria, great Home made food! My first time here and loved their menudo. I see they have other great options for the next time I come back like their Chile colorado. Very polite and attentive watress. In less than 15 mins that plate was on my table. Great food and service!!!!!!“
“I work nearby and this place has been my "go to" for months. The food is so very affordable and so very delicious. The chips are thin and crispy exactly the way I like, and everything I've tried has been good. The service is friendly and competent. I walk and usually get my food to go.“
“The food is always fresh and it is super hard to find good authentic tacos… definitely recommend the quesabirria… it is a marinaded shredded beef taco with cheese… Bomb.!!! My kids love their Marichabirria…!!! Definitely recommend.!!! You should try it out… they also have Jarritos or Mexican Cokes… their salsas are always delicious too so try them out…“
“It was a cold, gloomy, and cloudy day, and my group was looking for a cozy place. La Zona Rosa offered prompt friendly service. While we waited we snacked on very light and crispy tortilla chips; the salsa was perfect (not too watery or chunky).I had the black bean soup and a side of Mexican street corn. I love black bean soup and this was perfect. Simple broth (chicken?), which by itself was ok. But when I added the pico del gallon and avocado slices it really came together. The tortilla strips finished it off for a tasty filling meal that I recommend. Others had a veggie quesadilla, chicken soup, and beef street tacos. Very large menu with wide range of Latin flavors, from fried plantains to Lengua tacos. I definitely want to go back and try some other flavors.“
“This place is simply EVERYTHING!! The staff is ALWAYS friendly, the food is ALWAYS well-prepared, and the environment is ALWAYS clean! I admit that I walked into Chipotle to taste a particular dish, but I could not place the order given the unsightly appearance of the food bar. That has never been the case with my Eastchase Moe's Southwest Grill! Check them out!Kid-friendliness: This restaurant has a great environment with some kid friendly options.Wheelchair accessibility: Absolutely wheelchair accessible.“
“I visited El Rey yesterday before an event that was in the area. There was over an hour wait for the first available table but I got lucky and was able to grab two seats at the bar within 5 minutes. They serve one of the best margaritas I have ever had and they have a great drink menu. I ordered 2 street tacos, chips and queso and my only complaint was that I told them that I was allergic to onions and asked to make sure none would be included with my meal. They had onions in their pico de Gallo and were going to leave that off but forgot. It was a busy night so I just dealt with it and the sweet potato street taco was fabulous. I would not have waited an hour so I am glad I was able to sit at the bar, this is definitely one of the better places to eat in Montgomery.“
“This place is a hidden gem! I went there yesterday with my daughter, during the break time in her chess tournament nearby. It looks unassuming from outside, but the food is amazing, the people are warm and welcoming, and the prices are good. We both ate the vegetarian burritos. This was the best Mexican food I've eaten in Alabama. Fresh and delicious.Vegetarian options: The menu did not have a vegetarian section, but we mentioned that we wanted vegetarian burritos and they prepared us the best vegetarian burrito I've eaten. The servers were great btw. If you are vegetarian, don't hesitate to go to this place.“
