“Ask about their daily specials and go for what the chef feels compelled to cook. I had marinated steak kabobs, so tender and tasty. The roasted vegetables, broccoli, zucchini, artichokes peppers and onion, fabulous! Twice baked potatoes perfectly made! Very pleased!“

“Sommers Place is my favorite place to eat be it lunch or dinner. The staff there very friendly and attentive. The food is excellent and always taste the same. Ice tea is also good. I took my brother and dad there and they love it also. I give them a 5.“

“Surprisingly above expectations!
We were hungry and driving by so just stopped in for a snack. You order at the counter and they bring food to your table, so service was pretty good. Get your own soda and clean up after yourself at the end.
We tried two of their specials. $6 each for samplers of fish, chicken and shrimp. Both samplers also came with fries and hush puppies.
All the food was clearly freshly cooked and hot. The sides were fine, and better than expected. The mains were all very good. Best of all, was the chicken tender. Actually delicious. A real contender against all the fried chicken places around.
A nitpicky knock goes to the tartar sauce, which was bland and basically just mayo.“

“HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Our first visit for the Derby Watch party and I must say WHAT A HIDDEN GEM you have!! Beautiful restaurant and friendly staff. The Hors d oeuvres were wonderful. The guest were all dressed for the derby and very friendly. We will be back for dinner soon!!“

“Saturday night we dined (after a rather lengthy wait). We understood, it was Saturday night after all, but early in the evening. We were a party of 6 celebrating my 92nd birthday. We ordered and received our salads in a timely manner. The first 3 orders were served and then a terrific crash. Turned out it my 2 daughters and my dinners. The manager came made his apologies and indicated there would be an adjustment to compensate for our wait, by the time our food arrived the rest of our party had nearly finished their meal. We spent a lot of money and I feel some sort of compensation should have been offered. I understand accidents happen but I felt rushed after the delay,. Just thought you should know. Our server was excellent, no fault with her, sorry didn't get her name.“
