“Busy, busy, busy especially on a Friday night. Waiting time was almost 30 minutes but the food was worth the wait!! Large servicing so come hungry. Service was exceptional and we commented that to the restaurant manager.”

“This is a family owned restaurant. The food is good. The tamales kind of remind me of the ones I could get in Texas. (I said kind of!). If you have a food allergy, the owner is really good at recommending menu items that are safe to eat. The building is rented, so they are limited in the improvements they can make inside and out. The owners keep it clean and try to make it as festive as possible.”

“I was really excited for this place to open because I've always had to go to a location in Montgomery that is known for great seafood, cleanliness and service. I'll miss the guys in Montgomery but I've moved my business to Legacy which is closer to home and provides the same great service, product and cleanliness that I expect. I've bought meals, ordered large amounts of shrimp for multiple shrimp and have had my son's wedding rehearsal dinner from here. They always take great care of my family and EVERYBIDY raved about how good the rehearsal dinner was. It doesn't matter what you order, fish, BBQ, wings, shrimp, prepared or raw it's always fresh and always provides me with a high quality product. “This place is AMAZING! We were greeted when we came in the door. Everyone in the place was super friendly. I had white meat fried chicken, mac & cheese, black-eyed peas and cornbread. If I was going to complain about anything, I prefer my black-eyed peas with more juice so I can dunk my cornbread. But that is not really a complaint. The seasoning for the black-eyed peas were perfect. The fried chicken was not greasy and had great seasoning. I like my mac & cheese creamy and this was. My wife asked the big guy behind the counter if the catfish was good, he reassured her by offering a money back guarantee. She had fried catfish, black-eyed pea and green beans. She said her catfish was perfectly cooked and seasoned. She really enjoyed it and her veggies. “I reserved The Rex for my husband’s 50th birthday party private event. Cassie was so easy to communicate with and everything was wonderful. We found a food truck for our party and had access to the whole place. The bartender was sweet and attentive and the families that arrived with children loved having the playground and open area to run and play. Our adults loved the cornhole boards and also loved the open space to have a quick game of tag football. It was a wonderful place to celebrate my amazing husband! THANK YOU!”
