The Box @ The Rex - Brick Oven Pizza Bar is an outstanding addition to the Milbrook food scene. This brick-fired pizza spot inside a beer bar absolutely delivers. The pizzas come out with that perfect balance of a crisp, slightly charred crust and fresh, flavorful toppings. The crust has great texture with a nice crunch and good chew. The cheese is perfectly stretchy and delicious. The pepperoni are the smallish kind that ‘cup’ when cooked and they are amazing. The pizza has a solid balance of spiciness and sweetness that works really well together. Options like the “Burn It Down” pizza, “The Cheese Lover”, and the “Worth The Wait” are cooked to perfection. The pizza side is pretty chill, though the bar area is much more popular and lively. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The outdoor space is GREAT for rambunctious kiddos who need to burn off some energy. Friday is food truck Friday, with large portion sizes and reasonable pricing. The Rex was already a great place to hang with buddies or family and have a few beers. Adding a pizza kitchen has definitely made this spot even better. If you’re looking for excellent brick-fired pizza in a laid-back setting with great beer, The Box at the Rex is a must-visit.
