Always a great visit, whether it be the service or food. Just don't order the coleslaw if you don't eat onions. ( I couldn't eat it. Should have gotten the cheese grits )

This was our first time eating here. Upon pulling up, my husband was a little skeptical, but I told him I'd seen FB friends post about going here and it was fine. We proceeded to go in, we were right before dinner rush, so got seated immediately. Our waitress was super friendly. I can't remember her name, but she made drink suggestions and answered any questions we had about the menu. She even allowed us to move from the inside seating to outside, when a table became available (this was shortly after being seated and we only had our waters). We ordered our appetizers: gator tail, gumbo and crawfish cream sauce and she said she'd wait because we might be full. Well, we wanted the whole experience so when we got our appetizers we placed our entree order. She was right! We were already stuffed! When our food came, catfish platter and a 1/2 order of fried oysters, and chicken fingers, we sampled each item and the sides, but ultimately had to get a to go box. My husband was very impressed at the size of catfish and said they were so good. It was just an overall wonderful experience. The sun was setting and the scenery was beautiful. We even got to speak to a gentleman as we left, that we feel was the owner. He asked about our experience and told us that Sundays are when they have the live band. We will definitely be going back. It's not often you have such a pleasant experience and everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy their job.

The food was over priced, the royal reds were chewy and could barely peel them. Oysters Rockefeller were not cooked enough, side salads were good, fried shrimp wasn’t good. Fried crab claws were good. I’ve frequented this establishment before, was highly disappointed with it this time. $155 for a meal barely fit to eat.

Took my family here for the first time today at 3:13pm. They had a $15 cover charge because they had a band playing. I asked what band and the lady didn’t even know. I asked if there was seating away from the band because we just wanted to try the food because of the reviews , but there was no option other than paying the cover charge even for the kids. Not a good experience at all. They should have separate seating for people that do not care about the band, many people turned away while I was reading over the menu at the front door. I assume they are loosing more business having the cover charge than it’s worth, now will probably never try the place.

A hidden treasure. Love the shrimp. Best dog gone oysters and the juiciest Steaks in the River Region. Great music. You'll be treated like a king. Dig in!

I have eaten here many times. I mostly come to here the blues. I've never had a problem...until recently. I paid the cover charge at the door as customary when a band is going to play. The act finally gets started and in the middle of the show the manager sends a staff member to check my table's wrist bracelets to ensure that we had paid for the show. We were the only black people there and they didn't check anyone else's bracelets. We were totally embarrassed! We got our money back and left. We will never go back. Absolutely ridiculous and sad!

I absolutely love this little place on the river. It is a Southern Masterpiece. Good food, good service and lots of nostalgia. There is the sweetest huge black kitty there who is so friendly and will gladly share your cheese sticks. I have very fond memories of my entire Robbin's Family eating a wonderful meal there right after an interview and photo session for an international magazine article about our family ran transmission shops. I miss my Poppa Robbins so much. Good times!!
