Exceptional Service from Pam! I had the pleasure of being served by Pam during my recent visit to the Cracker Barrel in Montgomery, and I can’t say enough good things about her! From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. Pam was attentive, kind, and incredibly efficient—she anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and made sure everything was just right. It’s rare to find someone who combines professionalism with genuine hospitality the way she does. She truly made our dining experience special, and we’ll definitely be back thanks to her outstanding service. Cracker Barrel is lucky to have someone like Pam on their team!

Our wait time was only about 20 minutes which was not bad for a Sunday morning around 10:45. The hostess was very polite upon seating us at a unwiped table. She immediately began wiping it off before placing our menus down. Our server came within 5 minutes of being seated and took our drink order. I noticed a family of 3 that had been seated about 10 minutes before us. They had still not placed their order at the time we were getting our drinks. I had to stop our server and ask for flatware since we didn’t have anything to stir our coffee with. Our service was acceptable and we received almost everything at the same time. The biscuits were later coming out to the table and were barely warm. The dining room was getting quite busy at this time and I noticed that the family of three had still not received their food. They did have their drinks by this time. I made the comment to my husband that three other tables had already received their food and this particular table had not. I was getting upset for them because I felt the servers were so busy that they were not able to properly provide good customer service. When their food finally arrived, they still had to wait on flatware to eat with. There were two other tables besides us that had to request to get flatware after the food had arrived.
It is this writers opinion that the servers were being too overwhelmed at one time to pay close attention to the small details and to provide acceptable customer service. The kitchen staff were also overwhelmed and were struggling to get the food prepared and ready for the servers due to the volume of guests being seated so close together. When we were leaving, the family of three were finally getting their flatware to start eating. Remember, they were seated 10 minutes before us and the table next to us. Yet both of us had already eaten and were leaving by the time their food got to their table. It is my opinion their meal should have been compted and they were owed an apology! When I got to the register I requested to speak to a manager. When the manager came up, I explained to her what had happened and made the suggestion to at they should slow down the customers being seated to give the kitchen staff and servers time to catch up so that they could have a more positive experience. The manager never said a word. She just looked at me and never said anything. I apologized for giving her my opinions but that as a former restaurant owner and manager, I felt she should be aware of the situation that was occurring and how the customers were feeling. Still no response from her. Since I got absolutely no response from her whatsoever, I turned and walked away. As a customer experiencing the disarray, I felt she needed to be made aware of what was happening in her dining room that she was responsible for. If you’re not aware of an issue, you can’t take corrective measures to adjust it. In my experience it would have been a simple solution to fix and give staff a time to regroup and adjust in order to make the dining experience for the customers a more positive one.

Parking: Due to the quantity of customers, parking was at a standstill. Most all of the close spaces were full and those with disabilities had to be either dropped off or had to walk quite a ways from the back of the parking lot.

Walked in was seated. 15 minutes later we still had not been greeted. Nobody had taken our drink order. People that came in after us had already gotten coffee. We got up and walked out. 👎👎

Service was horrible. Took forever to get our meals and then the sides were wrong. Had to ask for silverware and drink refills. Was told by our waitress that they didn’t have cornbread… Cracker Barrel with no cornbread? Cracker Barrel’s standards have fallen. Workers in kitchen yelling and laughing and customers waiting on their orders to come out or to give their order to the wait staff.

I enjoy the food at Cracker Barrel however, my last four visits have been more than disappointing. They are always out of main dishes such as the pot roast which is featured an advertised all over the store. I was there Saturday in order a cup of coffee. They said they were out of coffee Who ever heard of being out of coffee I thought they meant they needed to make some, but they said there was not need to make. I’ve had to change the menu up many times because they never have what I wanted to order the worst part is they let me sit there for 20 minutes Waiting on them to bring coffee when there is none another 20 minutes to come out and say they don’t have what you ordered in food. It’s very poorly managed. This is the Montgomery store at Eastchase. The waitress is a very uninformed. Sometimes they say cooks didn’t show up to work so we have to wait a long time while the manager cooks. I’ve never heard such ridiculous drama in a restaurant I would fire everyone of them and just start over as I have owned a business and that’s exactly what I would do. It’s up to you. I don’t know why I’ll even eat there again and it’s right around the corner from my home

The food was really good. I ordered the trout and it was delicious, along with pinto beans and turnip greens as sides. The cornbread was really tasty. The waiter, Dwayne, did an excellent job with service. The people were nice and friendly. I'm looking forward to my next visit. It was a hit for me.

Parking: Enough parking for all.

They do NOT want your business after 8pm. We arrived at 8:15 with a party of six and waited ten minutes before leaving. We spoke to two employees working in the store area that were within eyesight of the hostess booth, but were not addressing the issue of us not being seated. They said they would call the hostess but one never came.

We arrived around 7pm on a Tuesday and there were not many people in the restaurant. There appeared to be enough staff to handle the patrons that were there. Unfortunately the kitchen was lacking this evening. The food was really slow and our waitress told us they were out of gravy but then brought us gravy about 15 minutes later. Improvement is needed in multiple areas.
