LOTS of choices, from typical tacos and burritos to mexican soups and other less well known dishes. Everything I've had there has been good and the service is terrific. Update: 03/19/24 New owners. More limited, but still good, food choices. Still very good service.

The food was terrible. The chips and salsa were the only thing satisfactory. However, when my entree arrived, it looked so unappetizing. I tried to eat a few bites but stopped as soon as I started to feel sick to my stomach. I will mention that our server was very polite and attentive. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly. The quality and preparation of our food was so bad that I was sick the rest of the day with stomach pain, and my friend was sick with diarrhea. El Jalisco..hire new cooks who can actually cook and find a decent purveyor. Also, ditch the 80s rock music for authentic musica from Mexico. All I can say is beware and don't order anything with refried beans or tortillas, which might be difficult at a Mexican food restaurant. I lived in Mexico for years, and the food was delicioso!

If I could leave no stars I would. Went in got a to go order before close and couldn’t return that night because it was 10:30. We ordered the Chile relleno, did not receive the beans, rice, guacamole salad or sour cream only the peppers .When returning the next day they said they can only give the sides and not the full meal. I spoke with Carlos the store manager and he was absolutely no help . Definitely will not be returning and want a refund.

A group of us went here because it was close to our hotel. The staff was able to accommodate 8 of us quickly. I'd like to think the waitress was new, but no one helped her out. No one came to check on us once we got our food and my drink was never refilled. The food was bland. Fajitas had very little flavor, tons of onions and peppers, but hardly any chicken. I would not return.

The food ….lets discuss this …for 17.99 ..I feel robbed .it was a thin flat piece of steak…small piece of chicken and some shrimp…the rice was hard I was just done…no wonder they were empty that should have been a sign..the waitress was ok but I definitelyWill not be back..it’s a shame I paid $40 plus for two dinners and then had to go to another place to get something to eat..I wish I had read the other reviews before I wasted my money

I watched the entire table of 10 people get their food (that looked pretty appetizing) to then be told that the combination plate that I had requested, they "were out of." And that a substitute could be offered...if only that substitute was freshly made in any way at all I would have eaten it. But, what showed up was a cold plate with a single taco and two unidentifiable things that may have been enchiladas with cheese that was not melted in any way at all. And the rice and beans that were supposed to come with it...NOPE, that was forgotten. Oh, if you crave a club soda with lime that won't happen. Expect to get tap water with lime, even though they will say they opened up the 2 liter bottle two days prior. I'll end with, I was grossly disappointed and went home not eating anything but the handful of chips & starving, but on the plus side I didn't get a bill.

I ordered lunch takeout. The chicken enchiladas were very affordable but the taste was not as great as other places. Enchiladas didn't have enough red sauce and/or red sauce wasn't seasoned well enough. I expect some type of lettuce and tomato combo with my enchiladas, so I guess I should have asked for the lettuce and tomato. Chips and salsa were tasty. For the price I'd try again to see if it was me or the red sauce.

Waited a very long time to try to El Jalisco's. There are so many good Mexican spots in Montgomery that it wasn't until I moved close by that I felt the need to try them. Nothing was inedible but boy was I really sad that nothing was great. The highlight was the Agua Pina with honorable mention for the choriqueso. The taco being the worst and the chicken quesadilla and the chicken flautas, that the menu said would be beef, tied for second worst... Which is my whole entree. Server was nice but awkward, building has seen better days, the first person I saw didn't speak, but the decor was nice. Wouldn't flat out refuse to go back but I certainly would recommend other spots close by. Paid $30 after tip and it wasn't worth that.

This restaurant accommodated a group of 23 efficiently. They easily separated alcohol from food and soft drinks. The Verde sauce was amazing. There was parking for our 56-person bus. Was really pleased with the whole thing and it was affordable.
