The folks were so friendly & kind here, I am hesitant to give a bad review. My husband had such fond memories of this place that he visited often before he retired. This was my 1st visit. Based on crowded parking lot, I took that as a good sign. I had fried chicken that was so dry & stringy, it was inedible. The "roasted" Brussel sprouts with parmesan were boiled to absolute mush, no sign of parmesan. The squash casserole was ok. The Dr Pepper meatloaf tasted like a BBQ meatloaf & had a lump sticking out that no knife or fork could penetrate. The cole slaw was pretty good. We ended up leaving full plates of food on the table as neither of us could handle eating much. I ended up in bed all day the next day with stomach distress. Don't think we will be visiting again, but do appreciate the friendly staff.Parking: Very difficult to park, spots not clearly marked, very small lot in poor condition.

I have lunch here when I travel to Montgomery. I recently took a school group, and the kids had a great time sharing a homestyle meal. I’m not sure many of them had experienced a meat and 2 or 3 restaurant before! The staff treated our group very well.
Cafeteria style food prepared in the old southern tradition. The staff is nice and the accommodations are simple. Ooh, the sweet tea is worth the trip.

I had asked my former co-workers awhile back about where could I get a good Southern breakfast and was told The Farmer's Market Cafe was a " don't miss".. and after using Google Maps I found myself in the front parking area this morning .. so in I went...I was warmly greeted and given a menu..I ordered The Farmer's Breakfast and knew there was no way I could get out of here without trying The Biscuits and Gravy which later I found a great choice. plus coffee and juice to wash it down.. the meal was nothing short of excellent.. well prepared oh and did I rave about the biscuits and gravy .. well they were worth the trip.. my waitress was on point and my coffee cup never went dry.The dining area was spacious and clean and so was the restroom..After dining I checked out the surrounding area. Time slipped away and by the time I returned the restaurant was serving lunch and the parking lot was packed.. I made a mental note that lunch here is a must.I say to the restaurant staff and management .. great job .. and I will return..Parking: Plenty of parking ..any overflow can use street parking ..Wheelchair accessibility: Yes I felt the parking and restaurant was accessible..

PLEASE DO BETTER ????Sir or Madam I thank you for taking time to write a response but the servers the older Lady with the sweat shirt on came from the dining room with a beautiful smile and went right to the toaster and got 4 pieces of bread and put themin the toaster with NO GLOVES ? ON.....The girl with the pink long sleeve shirt on didn't USE GLOVES ? and the young lady who waited on me put on A GLOVE ON HER LEFT HAND ONLY.SO REWATCH YOUR VIDEO .THANK YOU AND I KNOW THE FOOD IS MOST LIKELY VERY GOOD .BUT YOU NEED TO TELL THE GIRLS IN THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE TO DO BETTER WHEN A CUSTOMER IS IN THEIR PRESENCE.

If you're looking for looking to experience some outstanding southern home cooking try out the Farmers Market Cafe. Tried the fried chicken, coleslaw, cooked cabbage and mashed potatoes. Everything was great! Chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The skin was perfectly crispy with perfectly juicy tender meat to go with it. Also noteworthy was the coleslaw, perfectly crafted as one would expect at a mom and pops southern establishment.
