We celebrated my son’s birthday at Frenchies in Montgomery, and it was our very first visit. The restaurant is absolutely charming—like stepping into a cozy little hole-in-the-wall French café you’d expect to find in France. Because my youngest is autistic and doesn’t do well with crowds, we booked an early reservation. Our server was outstanding—exceptionally patient with my son and all his unique requests. That alone made the evening special. We started with the cheese board, tuna dip, mac & cheese, and escargot. What impressed me most was that our server didn’t rush us—she let us finish the starters before taking our entrée orders. I wish more places did this, since it gives you a chance to gauge how full you are before moving on. The French onion soup was a standout and an absolute must-try—it was among the best I’ve ever had. For entrées, we ordered the Croque Madame, the flounder, and the burger frites. Everything was cooked to order and beyond delicious. We finished with the crème brûlée, which was heavenly. The cost came to about $60 per person, but we ordered a lot since it was a special celebration, and it felt worth every penny. The restaurant is small and very popular—by the time we left, there were lines forming and the outdoor seating was already filling up. My advice: make reservations if you plan to go on a weekend and be adventurous with your choices—the menu is full of gems. We will definitely be returning!

My husband and I both agreed that this little gem of a restaurant really does let you step out of your car in Cloverdale and into a perfectly unique atmosphere. The food and service are as good as it gets if you want a fine dining experience right here in Montgomery. Can't wait to try the french onion soup on our next visit!

Food leaves a lot to be desired. Had issues and/or complaints w/ a few of our dinner items. Way overpriced for what you get.

We only had one night in Montgomery, AL and we wanted dinner to be AMAZING! Frenchie’s did not disappoint. The Steak Frites were to die for! The Beignets with the fresh fruit were scrumptious. Thank you for Thank you, Devan for excellent service and great recommendations. We will tell others as they may travel this way!

bartender is chill but $40 for barely 7oz steak. au poivre they say but no hint of black pepper I had to sprinkle my own. I’m genuinely sad, I wanted this place to be good and it was a big let down
We randomly picked this place for a date night after our first choice turned out to be a dump. We were seated quickly, and the staff was amazing. Food was on point (the French onion is a must!). This had the exact atmosphere we were looking for, cozy, not stuffy. This is a hidden gem, and we will be back!

Very good food. This French themed restaurant puts quality over quantity.
