I know the food wasn't being made to order so not sure why it takes more than 30min to get things out. How is it faster to dine in than for take out and on top of that they add 5% gratuity on take out orders! A 5% discount should be given for taking so long and for the fact that they have me two plantains as a side. There's got a be other options with better time management.

The restaurant is advertised as Jamaican. The ox tails are definitely prepared in an American manner. I ordered rice and peas. I have 1 butter bean. The mac and cheese and greens are bland and basic. My berry juice is delicious. Cod fritters are ok. I wont return. I was in line about 20 minutes waiting to place my order

Iāve been to Island Delight twice, both times during lunch to dine in. It seems that dining in is quicker than waiting in the pickup line, which can get pretty backed up.
The āJust Peachyā smoothie is absolutely delicious. Iāve also tried their canned juicesāand theyāre so good I had to grab extras to take home!!
Both times, I ordered the oxtails with rice, cabbage, and island slaw (slaw not pictured). The slaw is sweet and, I think, has apples in it. The cabbage is pretty standardānothing to fancy. The oxtails are incredibly flavorful and tender.
My only complaint is the portion size. The oxtail plate comes with a smaller serving of meat compared to other dishes. For example, my Dad got the curry chicken and received a larger portion. Next time, I plan to try the curry goat. While I really enjoy the oxtails, they feel a bit too pricey for the amount of meat you get.
The servers were wonderful being very friendly and attentive. I will say the two ladies working the checkout stations seemed less welcoming, but it didnāt ruin the experience since I dined in.
Overall, Iād definitely go back, but Iāll explore other meat options next time. The flavor is there, no question.

Food is wonderful. Atmosphere is an awesome relaxing vybe however!!!!!!!!! Iām sick and tired of the employees literally ignoring your presence. Countless amounts of times I have spent money here and each time that I enter the establishment, Iām not acknowledged. Today, it took 15 minutes after employees walked back and forth for them just to say āhave you ordered yet?ā. I donāt want to make a big issue out of it but it becomes draining when you enter these establishments and see people who look just like yourself only for them to be rude and overlook you. I was the only person in line, waited for an employee to acknowledge me because god forbid I ask for some decent service, Iāll get an attitude like Iāve done something wrong. Also, the menu advertises beef and chicken patties. It amazes me how I have to wait 10/15 minutes just to become visible to the workers then when they FINALLY get to me, I have to wait 30 minutes for a chicken patti because they do not have them on hand as they do the beef. Just wow. A whole hour just for 1 Patti is concerning. At that point I just left. Not everyone eats beef and pork. And then you have to pay for parking LOL. Youād think theyād move with just a tad bit of urgency considering the money that customers spend with them including myself. Again, the food is GREAT. Atmosphere/environment is wonderful. But the service is mediocre. Iāve been coming here for about 2/3 years now and not once has a worker actually smiled. Everything is a long deep sigh and itās giving āI hate my job and everyone who comes into this place to order, will know I hate my job.ā

Visited on a trip to Montgomery. The food was phenomenal, tried beef ox tails for the first time and it wonāt be the last. Placed an order over the phone ahead of time, was told 20 minutes. I got there 25 minutes later and had to wait 10-15 more minutes which kinda sucked as I ordered ahead to avoid this. Other than the wait I donāt have any other complaints.
I came in at 1:11pm on today which is a Wednesday. Ordered three plates. I was told it would be 15 minutes. Apparently One of my orders was never put in. It is now 2:08pm and Iām still being told that itāll be 5 to ten more minutes. Not only am I pregnant but Iām supposed to be back at work. Nothing is being done to accommodate me for the inconveniences. I have not eaten. I couldāve passed out in the lobby just for the hour wait alone but if I was given the courtesy of being warned about the wait then I wouldnāt have paid at all since time is valuable.
That wouldāve been a $50 that I wouldāve gladly kept. This is not acceptable. 0 stars!

This was my first visit to a Jamaican restaurant, and I was deeply disappointed by their lack of honesty. First, they provided us with menus that had the prices scratched off, so we had no idea how much the items cost. Second, the wait time was excessively long. Third, they did not inform us that the tip was already included in the bill, which resulted in us double-tipping. Finally, when we requested a correction regarding the tip, the waitress did not take any action until we brought the issue to the attention of another staff member.
