Island Delight at Dexter

I like the atmosphere and the food is good. Quick service. First time trying Jamaican. Most of the food is predominantly got some heat but expected as Jamaican. Would eat again and plan to try the brown stew chicken next time.

Tried this place...once in travel....sat for 40 mins maybe longer...called in order today.. got to counter had not started said does not start I show up. Great food...but time it takes to get.. not good. I'm busy only wanted get while out in passing....

they answer the phone for anything.

My first time eating at a Jamaica restaurant. It's a little pricey but the food was great. Ox tails,cabbage, plantains. I hate I missed the mac&cheese

The Jerk Chicken and Curry Goat was good. The food was not hot. Our waitress was extremely slow. I recommend calling ahead for take-out service.

Came here 7/25/24 Immediately upon walking in I smell marijuanna. Don’t know if they are serving free weed with meals. But it is STRONG. Secondly, I approached the counter and the girl at the front did not acknowledge me. 2 mins later she came up and said “do you know what you want” I tried to order a beef Patty. I was told the beef Pattie’s would take 25 mins. I wish I was informed before standing there for 6 mins getting high from the smell of weed. I wasted my lunch break driving this far. Will take my business to yaadbak. They NEVER disappoint

Best Jamaican food I’ve had in a long time! Nice comfortable dining area. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Service was prompt even though we were dining during the busy lunch hour. We will definitely be back the next time we’re in town!

Jerk chicken so good, it doesn’t need any sauce. Sauce so good, you’ll dip the chicken anyway! Peach sweet tea is wonderful! Mac & cheese, Island Slaw & collards are excellent!

Parking: Dexter Ave is ALL paid parking, except nights & weekends.

Kid-friendliness: I wouldn't hesitate taking my small children with me.

need to update hours online . online it says they close at 9, i show up around 5 because they say they’re open and i get there and they’re closed with just a sign up at the door saying they close at 4:30. ??

I’ve been wanting to try this place for so long! The hours are unfortunate with my schedule. I was able to try it, finally! The service was great. I think the chicken was a little dry. Good seasoning in the cabbage and Mac and cheese. But it wasn’t hot just warm. I’d love to give them another try during a better time frame. It was towards closing time. I didn’t feel rushed during my order. I was greeted nicely so I appreciated that. The food just wasn’t what I hoped it to be. I can’t give my best review for the food unfortunately.
