Mr. Chens is amazing! Both the restaurant and the market.

I used to live in DC, where there is a Chinatown. I ate there often.

Despite my many visits to DV Chinatown, Mr. Chen’s in Montgomery, Alabama is the best, most authentic Chinese food I have ever had.

Very authentic Chinese cooking, genuine and requires patience. Their meals are fried one by one. There are no meals prepared in advance. My beef ribs today were ordered in advance and were delicious.

When we came, it was the busiest time. It was full of people and there were no empty seats. We had to wait for two minutes. Fortunately, there is milk tea🧋 to try. It is so delicious, refreshing, sweet, and relieves the heat. You can also order takeaway here and pick it up yourself. I found out that I can pay directly online. So convenient, lovely place.

This restaurant is located inside a grocery store. The inside of the restaurant was very nice and clean. The gentleman who seated us politely pulled out both of our chairs for us. We had a little bit of a language barrier with our waitress and she seemed a bit impatient with us. We ordered 2 items off the lunch specials, which are also available on weekends. We also ordered the crab Rangoon. Unfortunately our meal came out a long time before the crab Rangoon, after which we didn’t have room for the Rangoon. Our waitress warmed up a bit at this point and said they were supposed to come out first.

My General Tso chicken was hot and tasty. The egg roll was the best I’ve ever eaten. My boyfriend got the combo fried rice and thought it was just average (I think he would have liked another dish more though)

My dad and I went for lunch and it was one of the best experiences we have had since moving to AL. Menu prices were insanely low especially for portion and quality (seriously, I am not sure the last time I saw a lamb dish for below $20 aside from today). The menu is widely varied, with many items that I have rarely seen at other asian restaurants (scallion pancakes, twice cooked pork, etc) especially not at the price point they were at here. I don’t think I remember anything being $20+ and the lunch specials were only around $10 for an entree/rice, egg roll, and soup.

The food was outstanding - I got the sizzling beef, and he got the twice cooked pork. Both came out quickly but were hot and fresh, they tasted homemade and had a wonderful variety of veggies and great depth of flavor. It was legit, not overly americanized versions of classic Chinese dishes. The server was very friendly and pleasant to speak with and helped box up our leftovers.

Also we didn’t buy anything from the market side this time but did look around and just like the restaurant it was filled with a wide and exciting variety of items that I have had a hard time finding elsewhere since moving, most of which was fairly reasonably priced.

I fully intend to become a regular at both the market and the restaurant, if I could leave more than 5 stars then I would.

I love this place. The food was really good, owner was attentive, and it looked like it had a nice atmosphere. although I got takeout. I will definitely be eating here again. Best, Chinese food in Montgomery.

My wife is Asian and she said she had to come here. I was a little skeptical. Now I recommend this place. Every dish here is fragrant and steaming hot. They say it must be fried plate by plate and pot by pot. It is not fast, but it is on the table within one minute after it comes out of the pot. So it is delicious. I recommend this place. It is healthy, clean, friendly and warm...

There is a Chinese restaurant in the Asian supermarket. It has very authentic Chinese taste. It is actually the best Chinese restaurant in the city. Full marks and recommended.

The weather is very hot, but it is cool here. My child is ten years old. He has always liked it here since he was born. For ten years, he started to like crawling on the ground. Now he likes to run around, from the supermarket to the restaurant, from the restaurant to the supermarket. I can’t keep up. We recommend the food here, the Asian shopping environment here, and the various flavors of pearl milk tea🧋

I just came back from Japan and had a workplace party. We like it here and often have work dinners. Everyone will be very happy at the party today. Thank you.

I’ve been to China and can attest to the authenticity of the food here. I would go so far as to say it is the most authentic in the area. It is absolutely delicious and I enjoy something new every week. Joy and her husband are beyond attentive every single time I visit. See you next week!

I always like to come here to eat fish, delicious seafood food, I can handle fish bones; today I had a surprise, the boss lady cooked for me and fried beef ribs for me, with butter, the aroma is fragrant, I love it here, the same as my own kitchen, I recommend everyone to try it, you will miss this place.
