Charming service and cozy seating — feels like a hidden gem.
Loved the vegan options. Creative and satisfying.
Good food. I got the impression that they really didn't want to be open at all. Decent enough though.
Ist time visit, food great, fried green tomatoes the very best. Will visit again when in Montgomery area again.
A neighborhood staple, Peyton's place has been around a while. It's only open for lunch and they do catering. I have tried getting in to review once before but the wait was crazy. This time it was pretty slow at 12:15. Got in, seated and served in about 15 minutes total. Ordered something called chicken supreme over rice with turnip greens, sweet potato casserole and cornbread. The entree wasn't bad but fell short of supreme. The bacon and cheesy sauce added a little to the chicken breast but not enough to make up for the lack of seasoning. The sides took the show, and while they weren't all hot they tasted great. Still made a clean plate and before tip my lunch was a little over 13$ so not bad. I would gladly return to try some other entrees and get seconds on the sides.
Not what I expected, but the food was good.

Food was really not all that good today. I do believe they put nutmeg in their macaroni and cheese! Wait staff consists of one hostess, one waitress, and a kitchen guy that occasionally pops out to serve plates. Your order may or may not be correct.
The sweet tea is on point. Very good.
Green beans needed more seasoning, chicken and dumplings were meh, and the banana pudding was not homemade, but it wasn't that bad. Seriously? What's in that mac and cheese?
My friend had the chicken and she liked it.

Great food and even better service!!!
My wife really likes the food here so I go and pick it up for her. The Past 4 times her food has been wrong or non edible. I understand mistakes happen but the person up front is typical incredibly rude to me.

Home cooked food at a great price! Service is fast enough that I’m never worried about going over my half hour break time.

Nice, relaxing setting, nice music. My fried green tomatoes were the best I've had in Montgomery, mashed potatoes homemade, and pot roast was chopped up with gravy. Peach cobbler delicious, tea not too sweet. Great experience for me this afternoon.

Stopped for a late lunch. tea was horrible. Chicken was dry as cotton Corn was straight out of the can but the green beans were great so if you love green beans, this is the place. Stood at the door for 4 minutes waiting to be seated and it was not busy at all glad they didn’t ask “how was everything?” Will not be back
