A/C was not working during our visit. Fairly toasty inside. Only 1 server working all tables....she was moving very fast but management should have more help for her. Catfish and mashed potatoes were great! Fried okra was only ok. We have been here before and things were better; perhaps it was an off day.

I've been twice for lunch for their meat & 3 veggies & so far I'm not really impressed with the food. I was there Friday & ordered the catfish fillet. I took one small bite & I couldn't eat the rest of it. It tasted like dirt. My friend also ordered the catfish & she only ate about 1/3 of her catfish, for the same reason. I was very disappointed to say the least.

A neighborhood staple, Peyton's place has been around a while. It's only open for lunch and they do catering. I have tried getting in to review once before but the wait was crazy. This time it was pretty slow at 12:15. Got in, seated and served in about 15 minutes total. Ordered something called chicken supreme over rice with turnip greens, sweet potato casserole and cornbread. The entree wasn't bad but fell short of supreme.
