Sol Restaurante Mexicano & Taqueria

Had a great time having a girls' lunch! We had the tableside guacamole and it was fresh and delicious! We all enjoyed our meal choices and the servers were very friendly and efficient!

Great service and good food! We're celebrating our oldest son 17th birthday here and we are enjoying everything. I couldn't wait to do a review after we leave had to do one now while I'm here sitting at the table. We will be back and like others we looked at the reviews before we came and let's just say glad we decided to give this place a try.

I used to pass by this place all the time when I was ordering pizza hut. Tried it out with my people and loved it so much the food is amazing it hits every time, and the margaritas are so delicious they really get you messed up.

It's been sometime since I've gone there.
Felt like some tex-mex. Unfortunately on a Wednesday at about 5:30 it was unorganized. I had a to-go order I even gave them a few extra minutes to get it together.
Went to the to-go counter, and waited. No response.
It appeared well staffed. There was a lady in the back who made eye contact with me but didn't come up front.
SO then I went to the hostess stand, and the guy there who looks like a manager who acted like he inherited the position was upset that I asked if the set up was changed and told me to wait and he'd be with me.
Took another few minutes.

I paid a .50 to go fee then they guilt you into tipping on the platform as well. I was dumb enough to tip 2 bucks. But smart enough not to do the 5, 10, or 15 they suggested.
I don't like tipping but up until 2020 I was a good tipper.

It also smells like they have some plumbing problems in the building.
I'm good not going back

The service and ambiance here is wonderful but the quality and taste of the food here is about as subpar as it gets. I ordered three tacos and the beef tasted like cardboard, as if it was mixed with something unsavory. I was so looking forward to this meal and instead I was totally disappointed.

It’s only THE BEST Mexican Restaurant in Montgomery. I’m Brazilian and I wasn’t a fan of Mexican food until I got to SOL. I’ve been going there for almost an year, 2-4 times a week. YES, that much! The pollo loco is a must try. I won’t even start talking about the cheese dip, cause it’s PERFECT! The chips always get to our table warm! The staff is great! The servers are wonderful and if you can, ask for Jack (you won’t regret) he is the best! I simply LOVE this place!

Very disappointed with the service! I waited a reasonable amount of time for me and the rest of our party to be served. No problem there. The problem started when I was brought what I did not order. This was the kitchen's fault. By the time my correct order was brought to me, the rest of our party had finished eating. I then kindly asked our server if she would ask the manager to give me a complimentary beer for the mistake and the wait. Her response was, "sorry, it doesn't work like that!" I asked her again to please ask the manager. Same response. This is horrible customer service! Here's what she should have done: 1) Appease me and communicate my request to the manager. 2) If the manager said 'no', she should have communicated that to me and offered me a coke or some other soft drink. The fact is, she never came back to my table and I had nothing to drink with my dinner!

I then spoke to the manager and told him the scenario. She never did speak with him! He said he "understood" my issue, but he never offered any type of relief. He and his staff obviously needs training.

Furthermore, their food does not have the flavor that would put them above their competition. And their service certainly places them BELOW their competition!

Not a restaurant I and my friends will ever again patronize!
