We are in town for a minute and I'm one who loves non corporate restaurants. We came in on a Friday evening sat at the bar, food was good grilled pork loin, and country fried steak, some of the sides were better than others. But the atmosphere was top notch 👌 We will be back!

Stopped in for lunch, and though they have an extensive menu, I opted for the meat and three. I chose the fried pork loin with lime beans, squash casserole, and apeach crisp dessert. The meal was served hot, but after a few bites, I realized that I was given a fried chicken breast rather than the pork loin. I pointed this out, and they asked if I wanted to keep eating the chicken. I said I'd rather have what I ordered, so they took the chicken back, and about 30 seconds later said it would take about 3 minutes. I finished my two vegetables, which I found okay but not out standing. The pork loin was brought out 3 or 4 minutes later, and I can see where they were confused. The only real difference was that the pork was thinner. Like the chicken, I felt the pork could have been improved by the addition of a sauce or gravy. As is, I found both meats a little dry and not very flavorful. All in all, it was okay but will probably not be a first choice for lunch. (Our 1st choice was closed on Monday). They offer specials at night for dinner, so that might be an option.

I rarely write reviews unless they are very good or very bad. But in this case, I can't say enough good about Sommer's Place. I have owned restaurants and eaten in most every place in Montgomery for years. I can honestly say that Sommer's is overall the best in this area. I eat there 3-4 times a week and I never get tired of it. Their crab claws and fried oysters are fabulous, and the filets and prime rib melt in your mouth. They also have wonderful fresh fish specials on Friday nights, and they serve homemade meat-and-three at both lunch and dinner, which is excellent as well. What I love most about Sommer's is the friendly, family atmosphere. It's a great place to relax and have a drink (they have a full bar) without a loud nightclub environment. They also have excellent experienced servers, with some who have been there for over 25 years! I highly recommend Sommer's Place for anyone who wants great food, great service, and decent prices!

Still good food but some changes fairly recently that are not good. Go back to the old honey mustard. Also, the tea is way, way too weak. It's essentially water. It's been this way for a while now but why not go back to the good stuff?

Place was packed on Sunday. Didn't know they took reservations! We waited over an hour for seating! Food when it arrived was good. Dessert was even better! Server was stretched thin. Drinks went under filled.

This restaurant had amazing reviews for the Southern style food it serves and it did not disappoint. I walked in and sat down at the bar they have and ordered fried Catfish, okra, Lima beans and mashed potatoes. It came out fresh and hot ?. After it cooled it was a true delight. The staff was courteous even though I came in dressed a little out of place for that side of town. I left happy and full.
Parking: Medium sized shopping center with plenty of parking
Literally paid $22 for three tablespoons of beef tips and rice. Mr Don very poor dry customer service.. Very very thin portion size.. $22 for a literal kids meal
