The food wasn't bad. I'm having trouble getting over the hotel charging me $20 for 1 hour of valet parking and telling me just to deal with it. I guess you're supposed to park on the street and take your chances. I won't go back to this restaurant because of the Renaissance hotel policy.

My husband and I went here to celebrate our 21st anniversary. The staff was nice, friendly and welcoming from beginning to end. The atmosphere was quiet and we seemed to be the only customers when we arrived. I ordered the short rib with polenta and my husband ordered the chicken piccante. We both didn't enjoy the the food because it lacked flavor. The flavor was bland. I'm a food blogger and I know good food and this wasn't it. We did receive a complimentary dessert to share. For our anniversary, I must say the dinner was the worst part.

Very disappointed! The menu changed and it's quite limited. My wife got a steak (which was ok) and I got the only chicken dish with capers. It was smothered in black pepper and entirely too spicy hot. My wine was flat like the bottle had been open for a while. They did exchange at my request. I've eaten there several times and had always been pleasant but I'm not happy with the changes and the limited menu. I won't be back especially before checking the menu.

Seems always a problem but hostess makes it right. Buckwheat pancakes not to my taste. Would urge you to ask for and look at menu. They do not give.

Had a reservation for weeks. We arrived right on time, but the table was not ready despite the restaurant being mostly empty. Waited ten plus minutes for the hostess to put tables together and set the table.

Service was friendly but not greatly competent. The server did not know the fish of the day nor that items on the menu were not available ble. The salads were good but the loaded potato was very dull. The snapper entire was good as were the crab cakes. Cheese cake was very good for dessert All in all just average

The collards were salty and spicy and 3 asparagus was included in my meal as the vegetable. At the price of the meal, I expected at least a serving of asparagus. The pork chops and the chicken were seasoned very good. However, the pork chops were dry but the chicken was very good.

Dinner was very good. The crab cake was a highlight. Service and ambiance were impeccable. Would recommend.

I visited The House Restaurant with a group of friends and the food was delicious and well portioned. I had the salmon with mashed potatoes and maple braised Brussel sprouts. I was told by my friends that the steak dish and the shrimp and grits were also excellent. The service was good and the food was brought out in a timely manner. It was good size crowd for a Friday evening but it was not overly busy. I would visit again and recommend trying.
