I'm disappointed to say that my fourth visit to this rooftop restaurant/bar in Montgomery, Alabama, was another letdown. Despite boasting an excellent location with stunning views and ambiance, management seems to struggle with basic operations. The menu, already limited to around 10 options, was further reduced as they were out of 7 items. I attempted to order a martini, only to find they were out of olives. I then asked for a beer, which they provided, but when I requested another, they were out of stock again. It's frustrating to see a great location squandered by poor management. A few suggestions: add some fans to enhance the comfort, tend to the plants to create a more inviting atmosphere, and work on maintaining a consistent menu and drink selection. With proper care, this place could thrive and be full every day. I hope they can turn things around.

Upon arrival, we learned that the Kinsmith was closed for the night due to it being booked for a large party. Unfortunately, no one contacted us in advance. We were redirected to the upstairs bar/ snacks and given a discount by a very nice and apologetic employee. In the end, we did have a good time, just not what we expected.
Erica (bartender) and staff were very friendly, nice atmosphere, and I had the Rooftop Pizza ? which was fresh and amazing! Highly recommend!

I was given the wrong order that could have been life-threatening. The server never apologized, but the host did a great job making sure I was OK. The manager approved a 20% discount. But the original server never acknowledged he did something wrong.

1. The hostess was nowhere to be found for 10 mins, so we stood there waiting for her to give us a seat. She complained quite a bit, mostly about the temperature despite sitting inside the AC most of the time.
2. No wait staff showed up to our table for 20 mins to even get our drink orders or let us know they would be with us to take our orders. Not even for waters.
3. One of the staff finally asked if we were helped and took our drink orders. After another 15 mins, they finally brought out waters but not our drinks so at that point we stood up and left.
The management was nowhere to be seen, the staff were constantly having conversation with one another and did not show any tenacity for their jobs. I can’t even rate the water, let alone the food. But the customer service was abhorrent.

They really need to work on the service here. No hostess and a bit understaffed. Food a was a bit bland (rooftop pizza). Decent vibe outside on the rooftop. I ordered food and a few others that sat down after me received their food before I got my order. This would be a really nice place if they had better menu options and service. But service in America is pretty trash these days. This place is no exception.
Parking: If you park on your own, good luck finding a parking spot on a Saturday night downtown.

We weren't properly greeted as we arrived just stared at until we stated we had reservations. Took too long to get drinks on a slow night, only two other tables under 5 people when we arrived. One of the waitresses interrupted as we were talking to our waitress about her suggestions. We tried the teriyaki chicken bites as an appetizer the texture was horrible and inconsistent. Chicken was tough and rubbery. We also tried the waterworks pizza it was good but under seasoned. Drinks were great! Environment was beautiful very aesthetically pleasing.

Unfortunately I think we were there on a terribly off night. It was Juneteenth and you would expect to have more than one person waiting on tables. The poor woman had a full room with 20+ people and kitchen and bar that was not keeping up. Then when they 86'd the short rib things came crashing down and the kitchen never caught back up. We tried to stay and hold out but the food came out about an hour+ later and we had to run to concert. We only managed to eat a few bites but the mains were not really worth the time we spent waiting. Manager gave us a refund which was the right thing. Maybe next time I'm in Montgomery I'll give it another go, it looked like it had a lot of potential.
We were first timers for dinner at Kinsmith . We gave it a try celebrating a birthday. The staff and waitresses were very accommodating; allowing us to choose our own table. Drink recommendation by the waitress was excellent. She made it herself. The food was really good. We both had the fried green tomatoes and pesto salmon cooked to our taste. Food portions were good as well. The only negative was the parking. We used the valet service and the car was returned with fingerprints on the rear side panels of the car, the passenger and drivers doors. I found that strange to say the least. I would not use that service again. Car records audio and video.
Food is good. Service Is good. Food is tooo pricey. 6 wings no fries. A lemon drop. $55 dollars

Wonderful setting of this new fun and funky eating establishment.! It's a great place for a special dining experience or for a dining experience with that someone special! The menu is eclectic, the food delicious and the service more than you could ask for! So get ahead of the crowd and head for Kinsmith for an enchanting evening!
I met some friends from out of town at Waterworks, the rooftop bar, on a Wednesday evening. The waiters were ok—not overly knowledgeable about what they served but friendly. They did not drink menu; however, there was a food menu. The staff told us to name our drink and they’d have the bartender make it. Fine enough. We arrived around 7:00 pm on a Wednesday evening to a decent crowd that actually grew in numbers. We, along with many others, were asked to leave around 9:15 pm. The older female “in charge” informed us they had an “ant problem” and began spraying insect repellent on the table next to ours. Needless to say, it was time to leave. In addition, she proclaimed that the bar/restaurant was closing early. Why would you do this with 6-7 tables of people enjoying drinks and a beautiful Alabama evening outdoors. It advertises “open until 10:00”??? My friends from out of town were not impressed by the “bad service” but liked the rooftop bar experience. Whoever owns this hotel needs to have a conversation and crash course on customer service with the operator/management of Waterworks. It could be the hottest watering hole in downtown Montgomery; however, it’s a mediocre experience because of poorly trained employees. High marks on the concept and potential. Low marks for those who run Waterworks.
