The atmosphere was great! The food was excellent Greens- tender and a little bit spicy, so no hot sauce was needed. It does include meat, which im sure is pork, but it was very minimal Blackend Red fish - kind of over cooked, which made it a little dry, but the flavor and the sauce definitely compensated for that. It also came with shrimp, which I may say was the best grilled shrimp I had EVER heard!!! Red beans! Great. I get them everywhere i go if they are on the menu. Now, the oyster plate from what I heard 🤷🏾♀️ was great as well! It made my friend do the happy dance while she ate so I'll have to take her word for it!!!

Tonight was my second time in the past three weeks trying to go to Wintzell's. Both times I waited over 7 minutes and no one came to the desk. Each time I ended up just leaving.

This was my first time to visit Wintzell's in Montgomery. My youngest has been before and she really wanted some fried green tomatoes. We were seated very fast and our server, whose name was Faith, was excellent. I had lots of questions and she was very knowledgeable about the menu and when she described the sauce that came with the tomatoes was like a crawfish gravy with mushrooms I was not sure so she put it on the side and it was delicious. The fried pickle basket was large enough to share with a large party but was also good and we brought the rest home for the rest of the family. The oyster dinner was good although the fries could have been crispier but I know I'm a harsh critic with potatoes 🤣 The decorations around the establishment were very well done and at first a little overwhelming but we found ourselves reading the walls and all the various sayings that were put up and made a game out of it. It was very warm and inviting and filled up very fast but Faith checked on us regularly kept our strawberry lemonades full and made sure we had everything we needed. Great experience and I look forward to coming back to other things on the menu 😁

Made reservations for Father’s Day 6/15/25 and when we arrived there wasn’t a hostess to greet us or give us a time when we would be seated. We waited another 10 min and still no one showed up!!!! I guess they didn’t want our business or the other people waiting behind us who decided to leave as well. I would leave 0 stars if I could!!

I didn’t want to say anything in the restaurant and embarrass my party. It was horrible. The fish and fries came out cold. You were out of oysters which is why we drove to come here. We were never asked if the food came out ok. That’s because I’m positive she knew the answer. We left a decent tip. We come to Montgomery a lot. We will in all honesty not come back. Nothing was hot. Appetizers and other food was just warm. Just a shame to spend $100 for 3 people and get not even mediocre food.

I've visited this place three times, and it's one of my favorite places to eat. However, as a bartender myself I always prefer to sit at the bar. The first time I visited, it was a Friday and (per our receipt) our bartender was Tiffany F. She did not give good service at all. We constantly had to keep repeating our orders, and she seemed more interested in her coworkers than her guests. The second time we went, we went with our kids and we had a tall guy (not sure of his name, but I know he used to be a server at Red Robin). Our food came out wrong however his service was exceptional! Very nice, especially with me and my husband being with our kids. The third visit we had was on 12/27 and we sat at the bar which prompted me to write this review. Unfortunately, we had Tiffany F again and the service was absolutely horrible. We sat at the bar and waiting for her to stop going back and forth with her coworkers for 20 minutes. It was so bad, an older gentleman who was a host (I believe his name was Larry because his shirt was monogrammed) made a comment to them that he believe they should take the conversation in the back. After 20 minutes of not acknowledging us, she didn't apologize, instead she approached us seeming irritated that we interrupted her. She asked what we wanted, and we told her we didn't even have menus to see. She never did smile once, only smiling at other coworkers again and conversing with them. She asked our drink order, then walked away and talked with coworkers, only to come back and then ask us what we wanted again. Another patron entered later on, only for her to ignore her and do the same thing! This is so infuriating, especially considering my husband and I are big tippers and brought $100 just to tip her! If it was a one time thing I wouldn't write this review but it seems to be repetitive with her. Again, she's more friendly with her coworkers who don't pay her a cent, yet will totally disregard patrons that are wanting to spend money with her/the establishment. I'm hoping this review doesn't get washed away and they actually address it with her. The food was great but our experience was ruined by the service. I tried to contact a manager before writing this review but I would love to speak to the general manager about this! If you do visit this place, please do not dine with Tiffany F or your experience will be ruined!!

Alabama specialties at an oyster house with fast friendly service, and large portions. Try oysters Bienville is you’re a Yankee and don’t know what it is. Anything with bacon is a treat. I had the scallops wrapped in bacon. Onion rings are not from a bag and collards have a nice kick. Shrimp and grits creamy and tasty. Plenty of street parking and a convivial atmosphere all around.
