Their food is really really dry… steak especially dry! Pastor smelt very weird… will never buy again. I recommend no one else buys this outdated dry food.

Our son brought us here when we visited, telling us that their tamales are amazing. He was right. So are their tacos, enchiladas, and even the beans and rice. Everything was super fresh, hot, and delicious. I got a combo with a taco, enchilada and tamale, my wife got a tamale plate, and our son got the torta Cubana. And the service was excellent as well. They even brought me an extra taco because they didn’t have the carnitas taco I wanted. Great family place, very affordable, such nice people. We can’t wait to go back!

We tried this place for lunch on a recent trip to Huntsville. We were so pleased with the tasty food and friendly service that we went back the same week. The first time I had the Alambra, a plate that included sautéed carne asada, pollo, chorizo, shrimp, chilies, and refritos and rice. I was very happy! The second time I had carnitas, which was delicious. Huntsville has a growing number of really good Mexican places and this may be our favorite. Highly recommended.

When you walk in a place and see someone making tortillas you get a really good feeling. We both had the posole - awesome. Onions, cabbage, radish and lime on the side. Rustic corn tostadas rounded the meal. House made flour chip and house salsa! Complimented the kitchen on the way out and received a pork tamale to test out. It was fantastic, especially with a little green chile. We're excited to find an honest to Betsy mexican restaurant in Huntsville. Will definitely return many times
We love going here to get better Mexican food then what you normally find in Huntsville. Our favorite is their tacos, and churros. We haven't branched out much past that because we love them. We normally get the pastor, and the chorizo tacos. We like their nachos as well. This is not somewhere to go off you want fancy or upscale. This is where you go if you just want yummy food that is different.

We absolutely love El Palomino. We always feel very welcome when we visit on Saturdays for lunch (usually an early lunch which is great since they open so early). We are typically the only 'gringos' there. I would certainly not call this 'Tex Mex' food at all (that is what Rosies is - not that there is anything wrong with that), this is much more true Mexican food. We have been traveling to Mexico for almost 20 years and know the food very well. The tamales are the best, I prefer the green sauced ones and the taquitos can't be beat! I swear I am addicted to both! We have tried their tacos (with cilantro and onions please), their tortas, their burritos (same toppings as torta just with a huge tortilla instead of the bun). All have been excellent. I certainly want to try some of their other plates, but it is so hard to turn down the tamales and taquitos! Love the Aguas Frescas they have! Great, now I am craving El Palomino, guess I know where lunch will be on Sat!

Everyone says that their Tex mex is authentic. I've even said that. This place is truly a step from Mexico. It's very well know for its tamales - must try them - but our group had everything from al a carte to a dinner to a taco salad. The tacos and tamales were unbelievable and everything else was fabulous as well. Truly a hole in the wall so don't expect ambiance. Service was exceptional.
