I ordered sweet and sour chicken, general Tso chicken. Food came hot and fresh. Very flavorful and savory, not bland and watered down. The prices are affordable, dining area was clean. Friendly service. Will be back for more.
Updated with pic of sweet and sour chicken with general tso, chicken fried rice, spring rolls combo for about $13

I grew up in Taiwan, and China #1 is one of my favorite Chinese restaurant in Tuscaloosa.
I always order from their "secret menu!" That's right, they have a secret mainly only for Chinese!
You can also ask for it!

I love Chinese food and recently realized how expensive and boring the competition restaurants here in town are. The food here was fresh, the lady at the register was so sweet! The pork fried rice had fresh veggies and wasn’t greasy, the Lo mein was cooked well and not gummy. We ordered Honey chicken for both entrees. Me and my daughter came at like 8:17 and they close at 9, so I wasn’t expecting much in terms of quality but I was wrong. Definitely will be our regular chinese spot. (choose this over Swen, either location!)
Kid-friendliness: Staff was super sweet to my kid, and didn’t seem annoyed by her kid antics.

I really eat here nearly every week. Good portions for take out. I get 2 meals out of every order and I don't eat small portions. The lady at the front may seem curt, but she is super nice and funny when you get to know her. I recommend the Kung pao chicken and I ask for a little more spice and the comply.
I have haven't tried many dishes because I haven't tired of the Kung pao. But I do like the spring rolls. They are fast with your order and you can call ahead.
Parking: Shopping strip, so no problem parking.
