Amazing place! I went here for breakfast. The food was delicious and the prices were great. The staff were incredibly friendly and made me and my group feel at home. A lot of great options on the menu. I chose the bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich with lettuce and tomato, and it was a great way to start my day. Great place to go if looking for a good meal and welcoming atmosphere! If you are in the Northport or Tuscaloosa area, this is a great local place to support!

Normally I would give it a 5 but today I was so disappointed. As I was looking at the menu, the waitress said they were only serving breakfast at that time and it would be at least 30 minutes before we could order off the lunch menu. I'm not a breakfast person but I just had minor surgery and needed something , so I ordered anyway. It was about 5 minutes later the table behind me ordered off the lunch menu so when the waitress came back by, I asked why. She said she messed up on the time. Giving me excuses on her mess up. I just asked a question but I guess I offended her and someone else took our table. The other lady was nice but we still didn't get the service we have always got in the past. Will I go back, sure. Great food and usually great service.
City Cafe has been our favorite little place for over 30 yrs. This cafe is an absolute gem! Sweet tea and dumplings are excellent! Breakfast and lunch here is incredibly delicious. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for catching up with friends. The owners are great and the staff are friendly and really go the extra mile to make you feel welcome - definitely a go-to spot in the neighborhood!"

This place is a staple in any college kids diet. Home style cooking for a great price. I ate here 2-3 times a week for 5 years. Joe always chose the college kids over profits and made it known that he was trying to keep prices down to help out students. Shout out to Dennis and Becky as well. They are awesome!

Very disappointed. Right when I walked in it was a dusty atmosphere. Automatically, the waiter did not have a good attitude. I ordered catfish and mac and cheese. It was lukewarm, and wasn't even catfish...it was SWAY. It tasted worse than school food in Louisiana. Overall I am not satisfied!👎

Meat and 3 vegetables for lunch is always really good, tastes like home cooking. Breakfast is another delicious meal. This place is usually very busy but waitresses are exceptional taking care of you. You might have to wait to get a table in their 3 rooms but it's certainly worth the wait. This place is historic so don't expect anymore that a very old crowded restaurant. Love going there every chance I get.
